The main problem with Chrono Cross was the "Chrono" on its title. If this had not been sold as a sequel to Chrono Trigger, I would love it.

And agree on MGS2, not a bad game but... WTF... just WTF.

Chrono Cross was only billed as a sequel so it would sell well.  MGS2 is the most crticized and controversial game in the series.  Even so, MGS2 was not the only game where the people complained about the effeminate nature of the protagonist. *points to Final Fantasy XII*

Final Fantasy 12 is a great game, but it should be called something else, because it's barely FF. The "FF" of it is further ruined by Vaan, the lead should've been Balthier or Basch, prefferably Balthier... I hate whiny and stupid lead charcaters.

On the subject of most people not liking MGS2 as much as the other MGS series, it doesn't really matter to me. The plot and atmosphere are at its peak in MGS2, the plot (and setting) in MGS3 are utterly redicilous...  even though it has better gameplay.

They were originally going to use Basch as the main character.  However, they changed it to Vaan due to Japanese tastes.

The majority have to disagree with you about MGS3's plot and setting being rediculous.  MGS2 was under severe scrunity for having a story that became convoluted near the end and cutscenes that lasted to as long as an hour.  Western gamers also didn't like Raiden due to his effeminate and whiny nature.

The redicilousy of MGS3 starts with the setting: A SIBERIAN jungle. Where are there jungles in Siberia?

Also, about long cutscenes in MGS2 - most people probably didn't like their length, but I enjoyed them a lot... the MGS characters fascinate me, and MGS 2's story fascinates me the most.

Wow, didn't know that.. it's too bad the Japanese like teenage whiny douches then.. lol

Jak II was quite disappointing, it was just not as good as 1, even though it was still a good game
