Forums - Sony - Question about movie downloads.

I have no idea how this works on LIVE as I was never in this situation before.

I downloaded a movie lastnight and my rental ends in 1 hour, what would happen if I started watching it again right now?

Would it stop and then proceed to delete itself halfway through the movie?

Hmm, good question, actually! I have no idea since I don't own the console, but I presume it would seem logical that you'd simply get to finish watching the movie before it'll be deleted.

yeah I'm with Cheebee....I think the time limit is the point after which you can't press play again, but if you're in the middle of it it won't cut out. I have no evidence whatsoever to back this up however.

...

How does the transfer option work for rentals? Has does the file know to stop playing after a certain time, and is it possible to reset the timer on the PS3 or other device?

I don't think it would expire while you are watching it the moment you stop it or it finishes it expires.

Think of it as if you buy something on demand from your cable company.

Now Playing: Crysis 2

Like they said, you can keep watching (at least on Live) until the movie is done.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I think you can only transfer purchases.

I think you can transfer rentals to the PSP as well. If you transfer it, the movie is disabled on the PS3 for playback.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

It doesn't delete itself. The Icons for the vids I rented are still there but you just can't play them. If you have an hour left my guess is it'll either keep playing. I noticed that the movies played a little pass the expiration.
