The jet ski game is not going to be throwaway according to him. He basically stated he wants to make it a deeper game than the loved N64 game.

Wii Sports Resort Deeper Than Wave Race 64, Says Producer

So I'm guessing its this game is why Project Hammer was put on hold then.

I actually have high hopes for this jet ski game within Wii Sports Resort.

Since it may have up to ten games, there might lots of good concepts in the package.

Well... that's actually a really good piece of news right there! :) Wave Race 64 was totally awesome! :D But it's gonna take a lot to top that, apart from graphics. Well, and controls of course, but from what I've seen it doesn't look too promising. Fun, yes, deep, no. Also, judging from what we've seen and the fact that the jetskiing thing will presumably be just a small part of the entire Resort package, I can't see how it'll ever be deeper than an entire full-fledged standalone Waverace game.

I was thinking that it would be cool if they fleshed out the games in this installment, after all, the time has come to start pushing some of the new blood upstream a little bit, and there is no better way than to use an trusted and established brand to do it with.

Looks like there is a chance I was right. Of course there is more of a chance that I will be dead wrong and this will be a tech demo for the Motion+ attachment that the third parties will totally ignore yet again...
