Forums - Website Topics - omg google thinks im gay

I have been getting that ad coming in on different browsers, different computers, different ISPs.

Sounds like someone may have made a heavy ad buy based on the reputation of fanboys.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Google is rarely wrong about these things, dude. Too bad I've been seeing that ad a lot myself.

I would not want to be that Travelocity gnome, what with that hat and all. It's not going to end well for him, I fear.

All of my ads have been World of Warcraft for weeks now.

hmm I havent gotten that one yet...

Yeah, I've got the "Vacation deals guaranteed to be gay-friendly" ad from travelocity on my screen right now.

I've also had ads for internet dating services specific to blacks or indians. I'm white.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

This would fit better in off-topic. ;)

Well, the way Adwords works is it finds keywords matching the current page or search entered on the client. The ad buyer pays to have certain ads displayed which match those keywords. The ad that matches the keywords is determined randomly, but with more weight going to the highest bidder. So the advertiser could just be choosing the keyword "games" and just paying a large sum.

Adwords does not nor can not search your cookies as your browser will not share cookies created by different domains.
