Alright am I the only one who still has faith in Nintendo's Wii as the ultimate shooter console. Now when will this revolution happen, I think it will happen right after the Conduit launches. Why will this revolution happen and why does this years E3 really siginal to a future of guns blazing on the Wii?
16-player online, can I say awsome. The Conduit is supposedly going to feature 16 player online. Now yes I'm aware that the 360 is up to 60+ players online and that 32-player games are very common on the 360 and PS3. But Nintendo consoles have never featured online gameplay before. Also the Nintendo online network is free of charge. I am betting that almost everyone who buys the conduit is going to bring it online infact it could compete with first party titles for online connectivity.
Mic, for online chatting. Yes the Conduit does not currently feature WiiSpeak compatability but they have a few months where they could definatly pull it off. If they do manage to pull it off and The Conduit gets audio it will hands down become one of the best shooter's online. I mean the likes of Halo3, COD4 have all sported online chat via the head set. Even if the conduit doesn't feature headset another shooter sooner or later will.
WiiMotionPlus, after seeing the new WiiSports game demoed by the Regginator I have to say this new gadget shows alot of promise for shooters. The ability to whip your hand around freely shooting on angles with complete freedom of where you send your bullets. This will be great and one title comes to mind RedSteel2. The origional sported clunky sword fighting but with WiiMotionPlus the new one could feature some of the best shooting and sword fighting seen on any platform.
So thats what we have seen at E3 this year. But why and when will we see this radical transformation. I think when the Conduit breaks the million copies sold mark placing it alongside RedSteel companies will turn their heads. I mean if shooters can perform so well on the Wii why won't other companies follow suit with shooter after shooter. Not to mention their is more coming from High Voltage who knows what we could end up seeing.
So who thinks the age of shooters is about to dawn on the Wii with The Conduit leading the way?
