Imagine that, you can actually buy a game where you can learn something useful.

How terrible.

 I would love a game like Okami gameplay where you need to write kanji to destroy enemies.

Like this...oh A fire enemy ...Fast write the water kanji => 水

But those cooking and learning English games suck if they were some kind of fun okay -_-..

The site is on borrowed time and I'm gonna copy his writings down for future reference before they disappear into the ether of the internet. He had so much good stuff to say. Somebody who knows how to mirror this website please do so.

This is his first article on the site and the very one where he talks about the Cinematic and other cycles of gaming. His own theory and he put things in a way that we couldn't quite put our finger on. I only looked at age generations not gamemaking style generations.

Yes, I like Sumo. But it was very interesting 10~20 years ago. recent yerars, sumo wrestler bocome only big and it causes lack of exciting battle...

 About 10 years ago, there were some sumo game in Japan. And no sumo games now... This is a little sad.

Learning English games is important to the Japanese as many Japanese don't understand a word of English.

You don't hear me complaining for them to release kanji games and even DS Japanese dictionaries and I can tell you...they seriously rock! There are no better dictionaries then the ones on the DS, since then I hardly ever use the paper guides.

So the comments out here are real lame flaming, you should be glad there are developers who make it easier for people to learn a language and there's not a better way of learning on a fun way instead of listening to a boring teacher :P

So, for Japan, what is left for Sony? HSG5 which debuts in the end of July. FFXIII which ain't coming till sometime in 2008. What's in between that will bolster sales?

Buying console/handheld to learn W_W doesn't sounds like a gaming console for me.

Neither did FMV-loaded RPG's for others. No one owns what gaming is. A game is anything and everything.
