Wow ,massive DS sales.
And very good Wii sales ,slighty under last month.

The X360 got a little boost from last month,but is the last only slighty ahead the 9 year old PS2.

As for the Sony systems ,PS2 improved a lot ,the PSP received a very big boost and the PS3 did it best month outside holidays.Now the PS3 has outsold the 360 in 2008 nearly 400K units in US and probably close to 500K taking in count the rest of America.

MGS4 did around 1 million and was undertracked by Vgchartz,the PS3 was undertracked too.The 360 ,as usual ,overtracked.

We have come to a funny situation where the PS3 is behind NPD numbers and both the Wii and 360 are way ahead.This should be corrected,its clear if MS has shipped globally 20.2 million it hasnt sold to customers what the main page shows.

The YTD NPD figures for the ps3 and 360 are:

PS3 - 1,608,000
360 - 1,354,000

What are VGChartz's YTD figures for the US?

Awesome PS3 number. MGS4 pushed the console sale over 100 percent increase. I hope Sony see this and realize that the 80gb with B/c is the one a lot of fans want.

Interesting NPD. MGS 4 sells near a million (counting bundles) in just US. That means it's well over 1 million in NA.

Nintendo and Sony do very well. All Sony consoles went up in weekly sales.

I am rather surprise at Ninja Gaiden 2 numbers. I was thinking may be 250k top consider all the so-so review it got.

Another great month for Nintendo, continued strong Wii and DS sales with a nice strong showing for Guitar Hero to tour and a second month of strong sales for Wii Fit. Good showing for the PS3, however most of those extra PS3 sales are probably MGS4 bundles, you've already got a problem when you have to bundle your game of the year with the system on launch day for no extra cost.

Terrible numbers for MS, Ninja Gaiden 2 lacked any increase in launch sales verse NG1, Battlefield numbers are lower than you'd like to see for an established FPS on the system and 360 Indy didn't crack the top 10.
