Because Dragon Quest Swords is releasing soon definetly got to go Wii.

It makes no difference what's being released on the wii, unless Nintendo increases shipments of hardware I tend to agree that it make little sense for Nintendo to hold back hardware for software releases. They are going to sell practically the same amount either way...

That said, I think the wii can maintain 80K a week easier than the PS3 can 10K, so I will go with the wii one week earlier, or possibly both same week.

How will Dragon Quest: Swords coming out speed the Wii's climb if it is has supply issues? It won't because they will sell out at the same number (around) unless supplies increase for a change....

Folks Soul is not a traditional RPG to the Japanese, I think. To me, as RPG fan, the game didn't look all too appealing. I didn't have the feeling of oh my god, I need a PS3 for that?! Think I'll go nuts once they'll announce SOIV for the PS3 and I keep that nightmare scenario in my mind that it will most definitely happen, or 360... which would be a nightmare for me too :D In the past I was multi platform (well PS / Nintendo that was) but for this generation I'd rather stick with one console. And White Knight really hits my soul, but these two games so far are the only ones! FFXIII I honestly don't give a crap about. I'm kind of "off" Final Fantasy, except of the Crystal Chronicle games which look very much amazing to me!

I didn't really think Folks Soul would give a boost, but that the sales on a first day would be that terrible? I mean Folks Soul a Japanese RPG game versus Saints Row an American action game... :-/. Really ironic...

I agree that SOIV will be for PSs. But I think it will be for 360 too. I mean, SO isn´t that popular. SO Till the end of time sold about 300k on ps2 I think. They´ll need to rise its sales, so a multiplatform release is logical. The fact the the remakes are for PSP supports that theory I think. Though who knows, if it started development not so long ago...a Wii release is more likely.
Anyway, as long as I get a KH game for Wii, I don´t give a damn about the other SE series :)

It's hilghly probable that Star Ocean IV could make it to 360. Tri-Ace is the developer, and they are making Infinite Undiscovery for the 360, so who knows what the future holds.

um June 30 was the placeholder date for Dragon Quest Swords..the official website (in Japanese) says July 12.

When you put it that way WiiGirl, I guess I should not have been as surprised. Still, the PS3 has sparse lineup in Japan and I though Folk Soul would do better. Honestly the way the PS3 is selling, I wouldn't go out on a limb and say any franchise will be announced exclusive for it anytime soon. Outside of what is already in deep development for PS3, I don't think the PS3 will have much if any exclusives from third parties from now on.

There is a school of thought that Nintendo is saving some Wiis they produce for big game releases. the idea is if they release more Wiis on a day a big game is release it will still sell out BUT they will also experience higher games sales. I am sure they want SE to conitnue to support them so if it is true we will see a spike occur for DQ:S in Japan, MP3 in the US, and then of course the holidays.

I seem to rememebr SE asking that Nintendo save some DS's for the launch of FF3 in Japan and at this rate it is probably the most they coudl do to garner more trust from third parties.
