At least with this delay the PS3 has time to outsell the X360 resulting in much more PS3 versions sold (not to talk about Japan)

Cause we all know in the past, how the PS3 versions of multiplats have been far superior, with shorter loading times, better graphics, and no mandatory installs.

 

Blu-Ray is a talking point, the PS3 and 360 have graphics so close it's nearly impossible to tell the difference, and in general games don't need Blu-Ray. The only cases in which games are going to use enough space to warrant multiple 360 discs is when those games are designed with Blu-Ray in mind, and the developer just had fun playing with the novelty of infinite space.

If not perpetual, disc changing takes less time than mandatory installs, and hoping, assuming, or generally preying for a lower quality port of FFXIII for the 360 bears the remnance of the scar still left by that fateful hour in which all of the Sony talking points were destroyed, and reformed within the span of a single trailer.

 

To answer the OP: How will they fit FFXIII on the 360?

Slowly at first. bytes by bytes.

Yeah, if it came out on the PS3 first, then it would definately sell the most copies on the PS3, and indeed a lot more PS3 hardware would be sold.

I think that Squeenix realized that, and didn't want the 360 to be seen as the second class citizen getting a port of a PS3 game, but as FFXIII simply being released on multiple consoles.

If you're trying to be unbiased, like S-E is, then the decision makes perfect sense.

What sucks is we gotta wait longer for the game now, but hell, who knew how long we were gonna be waiting anyway. I bet by the time the game is done with development, the 360 issue will be solved and it wouldn't have taken any extra time at all.

I say 4 discs. Good compression on 360. LO was 4 discs. and Id say there was easily 3-4 hours of cutscenes. I stick with 4 discs.

Wouldnt it be hilarious (and unlikely) if Square came out in a years time and said 'sorry microsoft, we just cant put the game on your console' and cancelled the port.

I would wee all over my mates 360

It'll be more than LO if you ask me... hell, no one knows what will FF13 become, how big it'll be... it's early for guessing now.

They're going to purposely spread it across a lot of discs, that's their marketing scheme. They're hoping some poor 360 owner is going to pick it up and go...wow, I get five games in this one for the price of the one game that those sucker ps3 owners are getting

 

 I see a "Limited Edition 6 Disc Xbox 360 EXCLUSIVE" release in the future.

 

Either that, or it will be 1 disc, same plot and storyline, but done on rails using the unreal engine instead :)
