Being developed and published by SE would mean they have rights to the individual games of KH1 and KH2 along with Disney, that means NOTHING could happen to those games without both people agreeing on it. But Disney does own the rights to Kingdom Hearts name, characters, and everything that's not Final Fantasy, so if they just so happened to really want to put it on the Wii and SE didn't go along with the idea Disney could take the game to Nintendo ask them to develop it and produce it with Mario characters and it would still have Sora and the gang in it. |
You do know you helped forever here. Coming in an insulting, than trying to continue...Yet, you just seemed to help him prove his point.

No I didn't at all, no one seems to understand IP ownership here, ok lets say Disney wanted to make KH1&2 on Wii and basically just a port, SE refuses to go along with it, SE has right to put an end to it, cause they published and developed KH1&2, BUT if Disney wanted to put KH3 on Wii and SE didn't go along with it, Disney could just say OK I don't want you to publish or develop the game, we won't use your FF characters, and then could just go to Nintendo and ask them to make KH3. Do you finally understand? Disney owns the IP, Disney AND SE own KH1&2.
Another example is why Goldeneye never went to XBL, Nintendo published Goldeneye meaning they have full rights to the code and that particular game in the James Bond series, they have the right to stop that game, they could not stop something else in the James Bond series, or have any right to it. So to say SE has the right to the KH SERIES is like saying Nintendo could tell everyone to only produce the new James Bond games on Wii, it's completely absurd that any of you would think SE has this right.

they can't.
since its a joint venture... publish and developed by square.
hell its so great because the director tetsuya nomura is behind it.
golden eye was developed by rare
lincensed by nintendo

At the time Rare was owned by Nintendo, it was published by Nintendo, and licensed by Nintendo, but Nintendo doesn't own the rights to the 007 IP. Again you don't seem to understand IPs, the IP is owned by Disney, SE published and developed KH1&2 which means they have their rights in what happens to ONLY KH1&2 not KH3 and predevelopmental state means everything is controlled by Disney, they decide what they want for the game, what console the game goes on, and they decide who they want to develop it in this process, SE being the developer could give their feedback usually where they want the game to go but Disney has the final word cause they could tell SE to screw off if they wanted.
And removing SE from KH would still leave KH minus FF characters, which were only side characters, you'd still have Organization XIII, Sora, Riku, the worlds, etc. the only thing you'd be missing is a few side characters that only have a minor part in the story. If you really wanted to get into hypotheticals MS could very well develop and publish KH3 and use Master Chief in it, and it would mean MS has it's part of the rights to KH3 then. So again Disney is the ultimate say in the series of KH, the developer and publisher has it's say, but the developer and publisher could change if push came to shove, and Disney just 100% drop SE if SE didn't want to go along with Disneys ideas.
