Forums - Nintendo - Who is excited for a Kingdom Hearts game with Motion Plus?

Okay...
Disney has ownership of the KH property. If the collaboration where to fall through at some point, it would be completely in their hands.
I don't know if this means they have more say as to which platform the games go to... but I think its safe to say that the decision isn't theirs alone...

LMAO Forevercloud are you really 19? Soriku owned you with cold hard facts and you still hold true to whatever crazy logic you hold dear.

Being developed and published by SE would mean they have rights to the individual games of KH1 and KH2 along with Disney, that means NOTHING could happen to those games without both people agreeing on it. But Disney does own the rights to Kingdom Hearts name, characters, and everything that's not Final Fantasy, so if they just so happened to really want to put it on the Wii and SE didn't go along with the idea Disney could take the game to Nintendo ask them to develop it and produce it with Mario characters and it would still have Sora and the gang in it.
You do know you helped forever here. Coming in an insulting, than trying to continue...Yet, you just seemed to help him prove his point.

No I didn't at all, no one seems to understand IP ownership here, ok lets say Disney wanted to make KH1&2 on Wii and basically just a port, SE refuses to go along with it, SE has right to put an end to it, cause they published and developed KH1&2, BUT if Disney wanted to put KH3 on Wii and SE didn't go along with it, Disney could just say OK I don't want you to publish or develop the game, we won't use your FF characters, and then could just go to Nintendo and ask them to make KH3.  Do you finally understand?  Disney owns the IP, Disney AND SE own KH1&2.

Another example is why Goldeneye never went to XBL, Nintendo published Goldeneye meaning they have full rights to the code and that particular game in the James Bond series, they have the right to stop that game, they could not stop something else in the James Bond series, or have any right to it.  So to say SE has the right to the KH SERIES is like saying Nintendo could tell everyone to only produce the new James Bond games on Wii, it's completely absurd that any of you would think SE has this right.

they can't.

since its a joint venture... publish and developed by square.

hell its so great because the director tetsuya nomura is behind it.

At the time Rare was owned by Nintendo, it was published by Nintendo, and licensed by Nintendo, but Nintendo doesn't own the rights to the 007 IP.  Again you don't seem to understand IPs, the IP is owned by Disney, SE published and developed KH1&2 which means they have their rights in what happens to ONLY KH1&2 not KH3 and predevelopmental state means everything is controlled by Disney, they decide what they want for the game, what console the game goes on, and they decide who they want to develop it in this process, SE being the developer could give their feedback usually where they want the game to go but Disney has the final word cause they could tell SE to screw off if they wanted.

And removing SE from KH would still leave KH minus FF characters, which were only side characters, you'd still have Organization XIII, Sora, Riku, the worlds, etc. the only thing you'd be missing is a few side characters that only have a minor part in the story.  If you really wanted to get into hypotheticals MS could very well develop and publish KH3 and use Master Chief in it, and it would mean MS has it's part of the rights to KH3 then.  So again Disney is the ultimate say in the series of KH, the developer and publisher has it's say, but the developer and publisher could change if push came to shove, and Disney just 100% drop SE if SE didn't want to go along with Disneys ideas.

At the green. No such game exists. Why have you already come up with a conclusion?

Second Paragraph.

Rofl...They would drop the SE? Thats very funnny. That means their dropping the creator.

They just don't get it.

If KH was on the Wii, I think M+ controls would be unlikely.

GoldenEye has a already mapped out story arc seeing as it derives from the 007 movie franchise. Whatever company who owns the rights to 007 owns it for all subsidairies. There are alot more parties involved in this situation. Rare, Nintendo, 007, etc. Alot more to it then just developer, Publisher relationship.

SquareEnix and Disney own everything that is apart of the KH universe. There are no extra shareholders in the mix, only those two. Disney does not fully fund the games as it's publisher. Niether does SE. They both own there own particular characters and the like. The entire game was NUMURA's IDEA in the first place. Nomura, an employee of SE, is the only person who knows the KH full plot, unlike in your GoldenEye examples.

i am going to sleep, done with c++ homework.
tomorrow i have to wake up early to finish my data estructure II trees :/.

i felt arguing to a wall.
even with all the points raised.

they even want to kill nomura to get kh on the wii with motion plus.

Yes, finally people are off the ownership subject, as just a few paragraphs back everyone was fighting Soriku over who owned it and I was explaining that SE doesn't and never will cause Disney likes to put themselves at an advantage when it comes to ownership, which with ownership comes power, and with that power they can choose what they want. Now everyone brings up a real debatable point, Tetsuya Nomura being apart of SE, yes he is the head of everything dealing with this game and has a lot of say in the development, but he doesn't have ultimate power as SE has power over him and Disney over all of them.

Which who's to say HE wouldn't want to put it on Wii, you do not know the man you have no idea what is going through his head, he went with a Nintendo system in the past and is doing it with 358/2, so everyone's arguments up to this point hold no water. So please think you're arguments through and use some logic.

Well since it seems people are finally done with debating stupid things about which system an unannounced game will go to on a thread about hypothetical situation, I'll try to get this thread back on topic.

I would love to see it come to Wii, Wii motion + would only improve the experience, though like Soriku said it should be used for something other then attacks, while attacks would be mapped to A or B have something like powerful magic mapped to movement or maybe a combo system where you did a motion at the end. There could be a good improvement in the gameplay with wii motion + and make KH a whole new experience. Traditional controls started getting old, with a truly great series like KH that's all about style and reinventing the RPG wheel while still keeping to its roots, it would be a great fit on Wii to take that to another level.

I would get it on PS3 if it ever actually gets announced but I think KH and Wii would be the best idea, as the game isn't about graphics, it's about the style, story, and having fun. That's what you have to do to make a successful game on Wii and it would be good move for everyone involved in the series.

I stopped reading after you made the first mistake.

The 007 Franchise is owned by someone else. The owner of that Franchise gave Nintendo full rights to use that franchise in the game that Nintendo was paying Rare to make. Nintendo now owns every aspect of the game, that game is Nintendo's. Once the Franchise holder signs off letting Nintendo make it, depending on the contract they have no more say in what is done.

So your example is bunk. The 007 Franchise was licensed to Nintendo to be used in a game on their console. Nintendo then turned to their wholly owned developer Rare and gave them a butt load of money to make Goldeneye. Goldeneye comes out and depending on the contract either a percentage of each sale is given to the 007 franchise holder, or Nintendo paid them up front in full for the rights to use the name.

Either way, Nintendo now owns Goldeneye and can choose as they wish to put it where they wish.

As far as I can find on the net, Disney and Square Enix both publish the first 2 Kingdom Hearts, and Square Enix developes the Kingdom Hearts games. Since they are both attributed as the Publishers of the games, then they both have control over what happens to the titles. Now if Disney and Square Enix are in joint publishing rights of the Kingdom Hearts franchise then both SE and Disney need to sign off on all things that happens to the series.

Seeing as that the person making the games has some sway at SE and is hell bent on giving the PS3 more games, this only points to one part of the partnership only allowing the game on one platform.

From Disneys point of view, they make billions of dollars off their IP's every year. No mater how much you guys cream your panties over Kingdom Hearts its very, very small fry to Disney. A literal drop in the bucket. If SE says they want to put KH3 onto the PS3, I have a feeling Disney would say "Whatever" while counting that giant pile of cash in the "From Hana Montana" bin. Going to the trouble of finding a new developer, severing their ties to SE and losing the established trust in the franchise would loose them more money then it would be worth.

Really everything points to the fact that if SE has any say in choosing the system KH3 gets put on, and the head wants it one the PS3, then it would happen and Disney would use the 100 million bucks they make off the game to wipe thier ass then burn in front of some homeless people in Sudan, just for kicks.

I would think this would make sense to anyone, but Im sure I'll just get longer walls of text then mine explaining how Im an idiot.

Viva la interwebs.

I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

^ I stopped reading after I understood you have no idea what you're talking about with Goldeneye cause they can't even get Goldeneye on the VC =P but again it's an example and you're derailing a thread that I just put back on the right course. And if you actually read I say the same things you did...

You must have not even read anything I've said after that cause you're fighting a battle I don't even care about, I was just making a point to clear up a debate between 3 posters and Soriku, and cause you never read anything you didn't realize I was trying to get the thread back on topic cause the 3 posters were trying to say the IP wasn't owned wholly by Disney and they wouldn't have the say. Honestly it was me getting them to stop with the ownership deal.

But yes you have some good points as I actually did read your post, but Tetsuya Nomura isn't someone hell bent on supporting only Sony systems, he supports what he wants really, he's got 2 KH games on Nintendo systems, and one on the cell. My whole point in making the posts I did was to get people to see who really owned the IP cause they tried to say SE owned it and would mean it could only go to the PS3 (for some reason I never knew SE was a Sony exclusive I guess they missed the FFXIII announcement or the FF games on DS and Wii)
