After saying that, the publishers said that they wanted to turn the game into a $20 project, and crap it out for a holiday release. Yes, the publisher really said “crap it out”.

That makes me sick. It's one thing if you don't want to focus your own resources on developing a quality game. But if HV already financed the game and it's nearing completion and you still want to "crap it out" in your own words that's just sad.

First, I hope this game rocks because....

I hope this game sells millions to slap all the idiot publishers in the face who didn't think it could do well on the Wii.

I'm sure that High Voltage will push 3rd party graphic standard on Wii into a new level.

But another thing i wanna know about Conduit's game AI ,Is anyone here know about it?

Still annoyed that the only way to turn is the bounding box.

Perhaps no one has realised what I have (turn with the control stick FFS)

At least it is fully custom though, I noticed most PC FPS have no boundary box, you always point at the centre of the screen.... so maybe I shall try that.

Well think about it for a second: On a PC you don't need a bounding box because it's perfectly easy to just let your mouse sit still. It's not as easy to hold a Wiimote steady, so hence, the need for a bounding box. Also, if you're turning with the control stick, how do you strafe or look up or down? You'd need to assign an button(s) to hold down for strafing and that button could probably be used for something better, such as weapon switching, melee attack, etc.

Using the Wiimote to turn and aim is the next logical step beyond dual-analog control. The Wiimote simply replaces the second analog stick for a more natural method. Using the control stick for turning and moving dates the controls back to Doom--a game where you didn't need to look up, down, or around you.

As for this GoNintendo article, it has me even more pumped for The Conduit. I just can't wait. It's going to kick so much ass.

Sorry, I suppose I should have added the rest of my thoughts, I havetyped out my control scheme for an FPS before.... but basically:

The nunchuck control stick acts the same as the N64 one did for Goldeneye, you turn on the spot by pushing it left/right, and move backwards/forwards by pushing up/down.

The bounding box would still be there, so you could still turn the screen by pointing off to the left... but you wouldn't be restricted by it when you are running and shooting because you can turn with the stick.

Strafe you say? I say tilt the nunchuck... it is perfect for strafing, you might know what I mean if you have played SSX:Blur, it would be incredibly natural leaning your hand left and right to strafe.

Looking up and down would still be done by bounding box only, but in FPSs it is rare you need to look up or down with lightning speed like you need to turn around.

Well, that doesn't sound too bad, but I think developers want to keep with the dual-analog as a kind of standard now.  Who know, though?  Maybe The Conduit will allow you to customize the controls to that level.  All reports have said there's a lot of customization options for the thing.

Yes it does seem to be very custom (definately a good thing, I like to make my own scheme) but I doubt the tilting nunchuck option will be included. Even though it really could help with fast movement. (Perhaps I am the only one who has thought of it)

---------

It could be customisable with the nunchuck too, Like you could swap between turning<-->strafing for nunchuck tilt<-->control stick.... and set the sensitivity for those too.

I think I will be being this game out of pure spite. I don't care if the game is eventually released with an average rating of sub 70%, I will buy it for the the reason of serious gaming on the Wii. I also grew out of playing shooters during my N64 days, but I will get this one anyways.

@the publishers that said "who is going to buy this", Capcom could maybe explain a few things to these publishers (RE4, RE:UC and now Dead Rising). I would even bet that publisher was Ubisoft.

Man I'm so looking forward to this game. If it truly is as good as IGN, this editor, and others are proclaiming it better sell 5m+ to prove once and for all that Wii has 'core' gamers that need these types of games.

I know I will buy it and downright force my friends too as well.

It's funny; the more time passes the higher my expectations for this title become. Hopefully the final product will deliver, but it sounds like the developer is hellbent n making sure it does.

Whoever publishes this, I hope HV makes sure the contract has certain advertising requirements set. I don't want this to fail badly because nobody hears about it. The Wii is selling like crazy and FPS are the "in game" right now so this should do well if promoted decently.

I agree in theory, but 5M?  Methinks you may be expecting too much.  Halo 1 only sold 6ish million...

Heck, LoZ:WW didn't even make it to 5M
