The JRPG lineup of the Xbox360 is worth twice as much if you include FFXIII because as a game it really ties the whole package together neatly because it is the one JRPG game that a majority of people REALLY care about. This announcement really removes any cognitive dissonance (Buyer uncertainty) that people who love the JRPG genre experience when they consider everything the Xbox360 has to offer when FFXIII exclusivity to the PS3 was a certainty. Furthermore for these people enjoying the single-player experience an Xbox360 Arcade fulfills their needs perfectly. I believe theres absolutely no reason why a JRPG lover would not jump right in for the Xbox360 at some point after E3 and im pretty sure that a LOT of people would have waited until now to decide which way to jump.

when u consider people always focused on main serie (FFXIII or Dragon quest) u understand it is pretty much balanced between the 2 console.

I was talking about Europe mostly actually and you forget that Microsoft owns Mistwalker and they have the ability to really shake things up with their Cryon game and others they may produce between now and infinity.

Furthermore, a TRUE JRPG fan would also purchase other JRPG games besides those two and dragon quest doesn't sell that well outside of Japan IIRC.

The Xbox360 also has the first really good JRPG in Lost Odyssey so the fans of the genre have at least one great game to get before they sink their teeth into the offerings later this year. 

Shooters do not pull in these people as easily, and it will be interesting to see the reaction in Europe where theres both a high PC gamer penetration and less cultural emphasis on the shooter genre.

If I had to sell one of my consoles now, I would push the PS3 out the door before the Xbox360 even though im a HUGE pc fan with a fast computer because of the JRPG dominance.

Europe is the best place to find out. They aren't experiencing a price cut so ALL ELSE REMAINING EQUAL, an important economic concept we can see the aftereffects of this E3 better than anywhere else in the world.

First off, that is ur opinion. Sony won E3, they showed cased the best and most games in my opinion. All microsoft did was copy the Wii and PS3 and get a PS3 game. As for a boost, no, not really just from a confrence. The clearance will give about a 20%ish boost but only temporarily.

microsoft didnt win E3

and i dont think they will have a shift forward.

playstation 3 is now king of shooters, and sales will keep up over that of 360 even with a higher price point.

ff13 360 port wont hurt ff13 ps3 sales. by the time ff13 is released there will be many other ps3 rpg`s on the horizon

ps. can someone explain because its baffling me, on how 360 isnt shifting more consoles than ps3 even with a lower rpice point, supposdly better onine and games?

How many Shooter fans are left to be converted after the Xbox360 got 4 90+ Metacritic shooters LAST YEAR? Microsoft has been there, done that and now Sony wants to make headway with people who didn't bite LAST YEAR at a higher price point to boot.

Im picking they'll have a 90%+ and a mid 80s JRPG from them before the end of the generation and thats on top of Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey.

E3 sucked for MICROSOFT the FF13 anouncement was an illusion trying to add shine to their boring and crappy conference. I see a minor bump from the price clearance then things will go back to pre e3 levels
