Two important points about the FFXIII anouncement.

A. Microsoft WILL dominate the RPG genre, so anyone with at least one eye on RPGs/JRPGs will seriously consider making their first or second console an Xbox360.

B. One of the main criticisms with the Xbox360 is that many of the games are on the PC and because many PC fans buy consoles only for games like JRPGs/and other genres not supported well by the PC it makes it a very viable 2nd platform ahead of the PS3 if you are considering JRPG support.

==> except Japanese people will not have FFXIII on Xbox360
and
Last remananat is multiplateform
So4 may become multiplateform

(just look Eternel Sonata)

when u consider people always focused on main serie (FFXIII or Dragon quest) u understand it is pretty much balanced between the 2 console.

I was talking about Europe mostly actually and you forget that Microsoft owns Mistwalker and they have the ability to really shake things up with their Cryon game and others they may produce between now and infinity.

Furthermore, a TRUE JRPG fan would also purchase other JRPG games besides those two and dragon quest doesn't sell that well outside of Japan IIRC.

The Xbox360 also has the first really good JRPG in Lost Odyssey so the fans of the genre have at least one great game to get before they sink their teeth into the offerings later this year.

Shooters do not pull in these people as easily, and it will be interesting to see the reaction in Europe where theres both a high PC gamer penetration and less cultural emphasis on the shooter genre.

If I had to sell one of my consoles now, I would push the PS3 out the door before the Xbox360 even though im a HUGE pc fan with a fast computer because of the JRPG dominance.

==> it is your point, we will see how consumers will react.

Europe is the best place to find out. They aren't experiencing a price cut so ALL ELSE REMAINING EQUAL, an important economic concept we can see the aftereffects of this E3 better than anywhere else in the world.
