Forums - Gaming Discussion - The most realistic graphics ever seen

That looks like a box office movie actually..... Best looking game I've ever seen.... But, is it must a cgi movie for the game? I don't think real game play will look like that.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

So is this another Disaster Day of Crisis type game?

IDK bout u but im not bothered by the uncanney valley. I say: bring on the real looking characters, I welcome it. OT: Definitely pre-rendered. looks interesting tho.

Ok thats definately the PC version they're showing there if it isn't CGI. If it is being done "real time/in engine" then thats the only platform that could achieve that level of detail.

The engine being used I pick is the "Far Cry 2" engine. Its a brilliantly designed engine with "layered shaders" So they can scale it easily between platforms.

Looks pretty cool and innovative, seems that we're getting a lot of new games this year and next which is pretty exciting. Its not MOH XXXX every year like the PS2 generation! xD

The odds that the game looks like this on a console or a PC that is less than $1500 when it is released is pretty close to 0% ...

looks great but is definielty cgi

Amazing graphics. I don´t it´s reached the Uncanny Valley. This looks awesome.

definately CGI, that doesn't even remotely look like in-game graphics

and for CGI it's only mediocre.. if you want really stunning CGI, then watch the Amored Core 4 Answer trailers .. the gameplay of that one ofcourse isn't that good-looking, but the CGI is just super awesome

I may be wrong but it doesn't look much more if at all more demanding than Crysis and they do have an engine that scales particularly well both to high and low end to pull it off. An urban environment like that doesn't require as much horsepower as a Jungle like Crysis, which is why most console shooters tend to happen indoors. Its simply easier to pull off the visuals.

Also since the release date is slated for 2009 at least, requiring something like a 4870 to pull off that level of visuals wouldn't be too far fetched considering there will be at least another half generation if not full generation between now and the release date.
