Forums - Nintendo - Did Nintendo lose any Fans today? =o

I'll sell my Wii as soon as I wipe out the dust from it.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

Not really. They'd abandoned Nintendo back in the N64 days to go watch FMVs anyway. They came back for a look at the Wii, but by then they'd forgotten what gaming was, and balk at the idea of having to actually deal with other people again.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

All the people that say "They didn't gain me as a fan" are the people who would have only become a fan if RE5, GTA V, and FF XIII all were announced as wii exclusives at the E3 conference, but then I am sure they would still find excuses ;)

I am a Gauntlet Adventurer.

I strive to improve my living conditions by hoarding gold, food, and sometimes keys and potions. I love adventure, fighting, and particularly winning - especially when there's a prize at stake. I occasionally get lost inside buildings and can't find the exit. I need food badly. What Video Game Character Are You?

You know, part of being a good company is the ability to self comerce yourself, if only for your fans pleasure. In spite of what many of you have said, E3 is first and foremost reviewed by industry related magazines, websites etc.

And tell you what, Nintendo, even if they just wanted to gain mass popularity with casual gamers by this press meeting, could have done much better. And that's without showing any core titles. The way they showed the games, was totally wrong, it sure as hell didn't even get me interested in the games, rather the peripherials that will come with them.

I'm quite disappointed with this year's E3 in general, no emotions running high, no major announcements(accept maybe for one or two, whereas there would be more of them in the past). Would be better if E3 disappeared all together should it continue with it's current formula. Remembering the old E3 makes us blow too much hot air into the balloons, only to see them deflate with an pathetic whimper.

Huh. Who would've thought that beggining anew in my real life would coincide with starting anew on vgchartz?

Any day now, the dollar will be worth less than 2 zloty......any day now.....and my life savings will be in total jepordy ;(.

Although there were no "Core" game announcements there was a lot of interesting information ... The 1 to 1 control on the sword fighting was amazing, and I can't wait for some developer to take advantage of that in a game.

Oh no, Nintendo's E3 presentation didn't pander to the core gamer demographic entirely! They actually revealed information about non-core titles and gave a fair show time for all types of products! What ever will we do!?

*checks outside*

Huh. Sky's not falling. Sea's not boiling. Birds aren't dropping dead in droves from the skies. No Four Horsemen, even. Nothing horrible seems to be happening. Maybe this is a sign that gaming is for fun, and not about getting everything you want, and now now now now now. Nah, can't be that, can it? I mean, gamers are entitled, nay guaranteed, everything they ever want on a silver platter this minute with cheese on the side of their choice, right?

Oh that's right, they're not. Huh. I wonder how many core gamers got that memo...

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

They may have convinced me not to get a Wii... Again.

If you hasn't sold it in the first place you wouldn't have t worry about that. Go get one, there are tons of games to play.

Ironically I'm not going to sell my Wii thanks to third party games like: Project Zero 4, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, Fragile, Rune Factory Frontier, Arc Raise Fantasia, Tenchu 4 or The Skycrawlers.

never!!
