Forums - Gaming - Now Playstation 3 owners know what it felt like to be an N64 Owner in '96

This has got to be the worst comparison ever.

The game is still coming to the PS3, and it's still exclusive in Japan(not that it matters anyway as the 360 may as well not even exist in that territory), so PS3 owners who were looking forward to it will still get to play it.

Tales? Tales always go to the console with the most sales and that's the Wii. Wii is getting two Tales, 360 only has one...

But yeah, I agree the FF VII impact was bigger but this is still huge. I hope I win a 360 from Tales Brigade (don't ask, too lazy to answer :P) lol >_>

I wonder if PS3/360 sales patterns will change now...

There is a flaw with your design....Tales of Symphonia was released on the GameCube and it was the least-successful system of last-gen.

Not necessarily there... while its true that this is nowhere nearly as bad as what happened in '96 (the PS3 is still getting the game as well as plenty of other Squeenix games as well), it's nonetheless a huge moment in gaming as it's just the second time that the main FF series has switched consoles, and both times it happened in completely dramatic fashion and was a total surprise to just about anyone who even remotely followed the gaming industry.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

The difference between now and '96 is that SE changed ship because of the N64s crappy cartridges. Square wanted what Ninty couldn't provide, and that was space/storage. Now it's just M$ moneyhatting. But at least the PS3 version is still being made, right?

Yeah, the FFVII situation was much much worse. We're still getting XIII and the Versus spinoff (supposedly still exclusive)

True that might be, but any self proclaiming JRPG fan cant not not get a 360 now. There is a massive lineup of JRPG's on 360 that you cant ignore. The PS3 reminds me of the N64 or Xbox 1. Great games are far and few between and it costs a ton. Does everyone really think that FF fans will wait untill late 2009 to play their first decent JRPG? I think now it's out on the 360 they will pick one up and play through LO, BD, ES, TLR,TOV,IU,SO4 in the meantime until FF13 arives.

It didn't switch consoles.

Now that was uncalled for. I can understand comparing the situation, but saying that this was deserved? Anybody who is glad that this is happening because of "payback" is a fanboy.

PSN: Lone_Canis_Lupus

Heh, those N64 fans had it easy.

I bought a PS1 for FF7. Which means i had to actually play it!

Square did make it up to me with Front Mission 3 however.

^^ Wow, so the fact that he used a Scrubs clip didn't make you think that, maybe, possibly, he was being a little tongue in cheek there?

Seriously?

(Blast you Kasz, you got in the way of my lazy quote points again! Damn yous and your quick typing! :p)
