Forums - Gaming - Anybody else now less excited for FFXIII?

but you gotta understand FF is a huge deal to me from a gaming point of view.

To me too, I own many FF sidegames and spin-offs,  9 out of the 11 main FFs and a bunch of FF music. The game is made on an engine built from the ground for ps3 and it runs on PC. It´s developed on a PC engine made for PS3 and later on it will be ported on 360 and eventually cut out some things. Right now  they are not thinking about the port, so there´s no need to worry about anything being cut out from the original game due to multiplatform limitations.

Am pissed that I might have to wait longer for the game.
Am pissed that 360 fanboys mite start to go crazy and get annoying.
Am pissed because many reviewers were pretty biased to 360 and mean to the ps3 in the beginning, and now with this I think it mite probably just get worse....

4 ≈ One

nope im still as excited as ever

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

never was excited... since I don't both a Ps360

im pretty upset actually. this was one of the things ps3 had that no other console had...kinda loses a bit of its luster. but i will still obviously be getting it because it is final fantasy afterall.

Yes i am because they'll dumb down 4 the 36T

I am twice as excited now!

Two times nothing is still nothing right?

Anybody else now less excited for FFXIII?

I hate people sometimes.

It is indisputable that fewer resources are put into each version when a game is multiplatform; in this case, every hour that is spent getting the game running secondarily on 360 is an hour that could have been spent on the PS3 version.  Granted, not *every* such hour will necessarily be used by the developer, because of the cost-benefit analysis of selling the game to a smaller (one-console) install base, but nonetheless simultaneous multiplat versions each get the shaft vs what they could have been as exclusives.

FFXIII will not be what it could have been as an exclusive.  The respective hardware limits of each console will limit this game, where it could have been completely optimized for one console.  Rockstar said the lack of a mandatory hard drive in 360 limited the game that GTAIV turned out to be.  I wonder if hdd's or disc media will limit FFXIII more.  Or processor...because this just occurs to me: SE said a while back that they were only utilizing 4 of the Cell's SPUs in FFXIII.  Makes for easier multiplat transition, as it turns out...

This. Still excited but man, more waiting! ARG!
