PS3 fanboys talked about FF13 "saving" the PS3.  360 fanboys downplayed FF13's importance and stated that one game doesn't make or break a console.  Now FF13 gets announced for the 360 and all of a sudden the roles are reversed.  PS3 fanboys talk about "it's only 1 game", while 360 fanboys say this dooms the PS3.  Come on people!  I don't care which side you fall on, let's just grow up, realize that it's just a hobby (albeit a great one) and get back to having fun talking about games.  I'm not on this site to argue.  I love to talk gaming.  Join me!  Let's all try to make a better effort to look at any and all gaming news objectively and with a level head.

This will go on until the conferences tomorrow and then the arguments will really start. Flame proof suits tomorrow.

The most interesting part of all this is that it confirms two things:

1) Square-Enix and most Japanese developers will make rational business decisions. That favors Nintendo in Japan and multiplatform releases for 360/PS3 in the west.

2) Square Enix views Xbox 360 & PS3 as the same audience essentially. I've always seen it that way but I wasn't too convinced that developers did.

This is all pretty funny to me.
especially MrDuckBears threads claiming from "It's not that big a deal" all the way through to "This will actually help PS3"

 You've got it wrong, here's how it goes...

Nobody could ever have dreamed FFXIII would go to the 360. This is like Halo type game going to the PS3 - It CAN'T happen...In Halo's case it really can't happen literally. In FFXIII's case it couldn't happen because it would be unthinkable...Do you realise how much doubt this puts in the mind of any potential PS3 owner?

This won't suddenly change anything, but it will REDUCE sales for the PS3 by a good few percent at least until it is released, we're talking hundreds of thousands.

So in essence, its not that it will sell a bucket load of 360s, it won't. It will stop a bucket load of PS3s being sold OVER A PERIOD OF TIME...Which will go to the 360.

I mean what exactly does the PS3 have to offer now? There's no A list titles left Killzone 2? LBP? Thats exactly the problem...Those titles aren't mass market appealing and I hadn't even heard of Killzone until that recently...Its not a Halo\GTAV...

The ONLY thing the PS3 has going for it is Gran Turismo 5...Its not out around a year!

(So it really is a big deal, this will alter millions of people's perception of the PS brand and the PS3 in a negative manner)
