It's pretty much impossible to top this, but I guess a FFVII remake could do a lot to even the playing field.

Lol.  I just said that in another thread.  How on earth did they keep that under wraps?  I was resigned to the inevitable.  Then it turned out it wasn't inevitable at all.

Cliffy B could come out at the end of their conference and say that Gears of War 2 is coming out simultaneously on the same day for 360 and PS3.

They could announce that the Halo trilogy is coming to the PS3

They could announce the Playstation Phone

They could announce that they are shaving 100 bucks off of the PS3 effectively immediatly.

FFVII remake exclusively on PS3 is the only thing I think could directly combat this. Far as other announcements, I think they'd have to steal a few big ones from MS to balance it. That's really their only two hopes in my eyes. Don't get me wrong, other things will be great to see, but won't have anywhere near this impact.
