Forums - Microsoft - Too Human Demo is up!

Copied from the other thread. Sorry if this isnt want you guys wanted to hear, just my opinion.

I got it, and have to admit I am canceling my preorder and applying that money to Far Cry 2 now.

The graphics are only passable. The animation during combat is horrendous, just look at yourself as your going between enemies, are the feet moving? At all? Nope, Im ice skating between enemies. Speaking of the enemies, just wow, they could have been a little less generic in look, but I guess that would have taken effort.

The voice acting is appalling and the story is about as thin as tissue paper. On top of that, the combat in my view is actually too simple. I can close my eyes, literally I have done this, and just randomly move my stick around and kill everything in the room. Plus, half the time I am being attacked or shot at from enemies off camera. So I just randomly push my stick, and oh they're dead.

Maybe its just the demo but the armor all looks the same with different colors, and I found myself in a demo picking up, equiping items and then 30 seconds later getting rid of them for a better thing. Constantly. I had the same mace in Diablo II for over 20 levels, I became very attached to it, even saved it when I finally got something better, but I dont seeing anything like that ever happening here.

Talking about items, the menus are just... sad. Clunky to navigate, hard to figure out whats going on and over packed with information.

This doesnt even get into how I felt the whole "Cyber Space" area felt horribly tacked on, since I think thats a personal opinion.

I think some people are confusing story with setting. I think the setting of Too Human is AMAZING. The way they are putting in Norse mythology and making it work is truly great. The actual dialogue and story is atrocious. Heres a scene.

"Its not important enough to send a squad to"
"We are supposed to protect humans."
"Your right, I'll give you a small squad to check it out."

Really?? Really?

Too bad, I really, REALLY was looking forward to this game. Maybe I'll rent it and give it some time that way and save the 60 bucks.

I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

This space Reserved for the Nuggets of Wisdom dropped by Bladeforce:

"Why post something like this when all it will get is PS3 owners blinded to reality replying? BOTH THE PS3 AND BLUE-RAY WILL NOT LAST 3 YEARS! TECHNOLOGY CHANGED TOO FAST!"

"is it Wii FIt that has sold as many as PS3's sold? Thats a LOL Look at the total sales of software is it just me that sees Nintendo titles hitting 10m+ and you say they arent making a difference? Another LOL!"

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

It is a bad game that is all. lol

If anyone likes this game it is because he/she hasn´t play a good game for a loooooooooooong time (not saying that the 360 does not has any good game (: ).

that´s my opinion :D.

^^ LOL.

Game looks like it's a 6/10 - 7/10 game from what i'm reading , but for 10 years of development that's kinda disapointing you could make 3 or 4 AAA games in that time.

LOL...the haters are having a hard time with this game being that good.

^ Exactly what I'm thinking after the demo, it'll probably get mostly 6s and 7s. Seems like it will be quite good if you're a big dungeon crawler fan, otherwise you can easily give it a miss.

Yeah, they want it to be awful for some reason. It is not the greatest game ever made, but it is, by far, not the worst. Fun little game to play by yourself or with a friend.

This is a first day purchase for me.

But this 10 year stupidness has gone way way too far.

They had the initial concept plans for the PS2 and it was in pre-production (as in the same way Getaway and Eights Days were before they got canned).

Then in a way, Too Human did kinda get canned, because SK got projects for MGS:TS and Eternal Darkness (and some other games, I forget).

They only started working back on it when MS sent their MGS staff and re-invigorated their desire to continue the concept. This happened probably around 2006.

Therefore, this is a 10 year delay on a concept, but 3 years of actual development time.

Is this too hard to understand?

It's actually very simple to understand, but it's just too good a meme to give up. "At least Lair didn't take 10 years, lawl!"

So, what is it? Another "the previewers bashed it to death and the SDF wet their pants from joy but the gamers who actually played thought it was really good and the SDF says 'but my pal told me it was no good, how can you tell me it is good', and then we all hack'n'slash freaks can't wait untill August' game?

The demo is really enjoyable. By no means an AAA game (camera issues cancel the achievement) but certainly a game I will buy!
