totally agree with you on Nintendo's focus steven787 but it seems the people that are getting the Wii are the smaller devs and right now HV, THQ, Platinum Games are getting the Wii a lot more than the Capcoms, Ubisoft and Konami's.

Wii will get some amazing third party games but outside of EA (who'd have thought EA would be used as an example of a large dev getting things right) - my top 5 non Nintendo most anticipated Wii games are mainly smaller devs.

wow - wonder if it's the same game, good find

What, no wiiware? I don't think a game about UFOs catching sheep could take up over 40mb, so i don't see why they couldn't put it on there...darn.

i hope there's something else for the wii but to be honest i'm doubtful, outside of the resident Evil Wii games you have zak and wiki and okami that weren't advertised one bit.

Spyborgs looks good but it's being developed by Bionic Games and only published by Capcom, they also stated

"Dark Void [PS3, 360 title] and Spyborgs are the two biggest titles our office is working on. To say that either of them isn't an incredibly high priority for the company, with major resources against them would be a pretty big misunderstanding of the reality. "

if this is their biggest project with major resources then how or where did this "secret project" come from? it's all internet rumours imo.

Seems to me Capcom have written 08 off for the Wii in order to prepare for a stellar 09 with MH3, Spyborgs and probably some new RE game.

Bionic games have a great deal of experience on amazing games (Ratchet, Resistance).

There is a big Capcom game coming, NGamer is a very thrustworthy magazine.

As for the other 3rd parties: Don't you guys see what's happening? CoD5 will run the CoD4 engine on Wii, no doubt that must have cost a lot of effort, GH: World Tour will have all the features of the other versions, Star Wars FU will have more levels and is said to be the best version. Furthermore games like Tenchu, Fatal Frame, Arc Rise Fantasia are announced almost weekly.

agreed the Wii has proved itself on a lot of fronts - the biggest being multiplat releases.  With Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones, GH3, Wii Pro Evo, Sega Superstars Tennis, Tiger Woods, RE4 nobody has any doubt that Wii is a viable option when making mutiple versions of a well known franchise.  Recently we've also had announcements of the Wii being lead platforms on some games and not a port of a different version.

In Japan the Wii is also pulling ahead with a spate of games recently and FF4, Tenchu 4, Tales games, RPG  games and other devs coming out saying they'll be developing for the Wii.

The one front that it still has to win people with is single player epics which i love on the Wii and I think the Wii mote works perfectly for these games - this is where the smaller devs are queuing up to give the wii a chance to do that but the bigger devs aren't yet, this is where we need The Conduits, Deadly Creatures, Madworlds to be successfull.

Read this post, what Capcom thinks about Wii owners:

http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/1012758/?pg=last#14532563

Straight from their forums.

That guys a MOD not a paid REP

I doubt an employee would say:

RE4 was already a million seller before ever being released on the Wii, and UC also sold a million, but it's the only third party game exclusive to do so and it wasn't all that great of a game. For instance if that type of game can sell a million then why would Capcom attempt anything more elaborate then it?

He also forgets to mention the Wii version selling another 1+ million. A paid rep would point that out.

His post is full of negative comments about Wii and other Third Party developers that will probably lead to his losing his MOD status real soon.

I think it highlights a flaw in the thinking of certain "core" gamers who are vehemently opposed to the Wii: In their eyes, Nintendo can't win, no matter how well it does. If non AAA third party games don't sell well, then there's no market for third parties on the Wii. If non AAA third party games sell well, then they don't have to put in the effort in subsequent games. Either way, there's no scenario in which third parties ought to escalate their lineup commitment to the Wii.

Back to the main topic, I really want to know why Capcom decided to skip the Wii for this game. Considering the premise, and the fact that it's not even a full retail game, I doubt there are any good demographic or technical reasons for them to have skipped it. I mean, as a Wii owner, I'm hardly torn up about this, but how do they justify ignoring the market leader to their shareholders (for that matter, how does any developer do it?).
