From what I'm hearing they are simply clearing out the 20GB inventory for the 60GB. The 60GB is supposed to be $349 when its released. Now whether that will actually happen remains to be seen. I doubt that MS would release the 60GB for $349 if the 360 sales significant increase as the result of the $299 price oint.
Ah man, so tempting to buy one :@ Just need to see if I can get extra money to buy one before they get out of stock.
Anybody know how long it will stay at this price?

The $299 price is while supplies last. The new 60GB units will be available in August at $349. No other SKUs are dropping in price.
MS wants the 20GB units to get cleared out. So they drop the price and leave the Arcade and Elite and existing prices. They must not have many of those left in the channel. Most likely the new 60GB units will be with the new Jasper board. Have seen reports on NeoGaf that the SKU of the new unit has been found on Best Buy computers and the 60GB units way 2 lbs less.
Likely will see price drop across the board in a few months.
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Is it just me or is this guy extremely paranoid about people insulting the 360? I don't see how asking about reliability of a Xbox360 is stealth trolling.

Actually, I have a launch 360 I would like to replace. I was thinking of the 20 gig with the price drop, or the 60 gig in 3 months when it drops to $299. I wanted to know if I get anything else for my 3 months wait, other then 40 gig.

Yeah, I am curious to know how many 20 Gig 360's are still on shelves so that we know how much of an effect this will have, because it appears to be a "temporary" price cut, although people who buy the new one will get 40 extra gigs, which was one of my main complaints about the basic Pro, the lack of space.
