Forums - Nintendo - How much powerful the Wii is ?

360 has been clocked at 3.2 GHz CPU
PS3 has been clocked at 3.2 GHz CPU
xBox has been clocked at 733 MHz CPU
Wii has been clocked at 729 MHz CPU
GC has been clocked at 485 MHz CPU
PS2 has been clocked at 294 MHz CPU
DC has been clocked at 200 MHz CPU

360 has 512 MB of RAM

PS3 has 256 MB of RAM

Wii has 88 MB of RAM

xBox has 64 MB of RAM

GC has 43 MB of RAM

PS2 has 32 MB of RAM

DC has 16 MB of RAM

This is just CPU speeds and RAM, not taking GPU, or everything else in account.

But it does show whats more powerfull.

I own all of lastgen systems as of October 2008. (Finally got a Dreamcast)

I own every currentgen system except PS3.

But it does show whats more powerfull, as you can see, the Wii is in the middle, so its not so bad.

See this is the problem, everyone gets all hooked up on the numbers when they are meaningless unless you know a little about them.

I don't know much at all about how it all works, but I am pretty sure the Wii is more capable than the Xbox, and in fact the GC was close to the Xbox.

Nintendo has been in the gaming business for a long time and they know how to make their chips suit games very well, so they work cleaner and more efficiently for their purpose.

D:

Double Post, internet refreshed on me, sorry.

I just posted RAM too, and the Wii has much more then the xBox.

Also its the Graphic chips, which I don't wanna get into that does alot of the work making games look good.

DC
For the most part...

Well the PPC arch is indeed more powerfull at similar clock speed than the x86...

Relative to the Gamecube, it's thought to be somewhere between 1.5x-2x as powerful.
Relative to the original XBox, it's difficult to compare power precisely -the architectures are too different- but the Wii is thought to be a little more powerful.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

no need to mintion this two plz .. after that fans will come and make war here.

I know that if a Wii was fighting an Xbox in a streetfight, i'd back the Wii! Now thats all that really matters...

I always look for a woman who has a tattoo. I see a woman with a tattoo, and I’m thinking, okay, here’s a gal who’s capable of making a decision she’ll regret in the future.

Blah blah blah untapped potential.
Show me some proof!

All they have to do is add more Pikmins.
