Can't wait to know about the WiFi options in Animal Crossing. I'm wondering if someone can visit a friend's town when their Wii is in Stand-By mode. That would be awesome!

Miyamoto announced that feature when they unveiled the standby mode

Really? That's soo cool!

Punch Out.
I wonder if Ken Kutaragi will replace Gabby Jay as first opponent.

Talk like that might get you burned at the stake.  Gabby Jay will box until he wins a match (I'm pretty sure thats what he said in Super Punch Out).

How can you guys not be excited about a new Punch Out, we have 2 full generations without the most enjoyable boxing game, IMO.

Im for it darryl, This is friggin awesomo in a big way. I never played Animal Crossing nor do i have the 24 hr commitment schedule. Might play it, but without doubt Punch Out is going to shit all over EA's effort, lol, and will get the hardcores along with the casuals back in to the swing.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Is it just me or did EA know it was coming already? Facebreaker hmm

I could care less about Animal Crossing, but it will sell a lot if true.
Punch-Out is good news, but I really want something in the vein of a new Star Fox or the heavily rumored KID....ICARUS.

I don't think we'll find any games this generation that require the use of the balance board....

Actually, we already have one. Since the Balance Board already has more sales than the PS3 does in Japan, one Japanese developer's already come up with a Board-requiring title, whose name escapes me right now. Furthermore, we already know of seven confirmed titles that will use it, including a WiiWare game by the guy who invented 1080 Snowboarding, and chances are Nintendo's making another 1080.

Back on topic: If the rumors of Punch Out! turn out to be false...

I'll cry.

punch out wii?

NINTENDO IS BACK TO ITS ROOTS BABY

Depressing IMO.

I don't care about WiiFit so I'd rather not have Punch Out force me to have a board.

Shaun White Snowboarding is being developed from the ground up for the balance board.

But even that title supports wiimote/nunchuck control.

I don't think we'll find any games this generation that require the use of the balance board....but then...you might be missing out on some great fun.

WiiFit doesn't count?

Damn you and your....logic/reason.

But hey....don't knock WiiFit.  I've been playing it all week and I think it's great.  It's certainly keeping me motivated and making me being a little more conscious about how I eat and how I spend my day.  Non-game or not...it actually makes working out fun.  And my girlfriend just loves to watch me hula hoop.

If Punch Out is real then it looks I won a bet =)

Also, I think it will have a lot of controller options, the Balance Board will be optional I guess.
