Forums - Nintendo - What are the odds of a game featuring Headtracking being revealed at E3?

It's got to happen sometime, right?

I'll give 5-1 odds that something inspired by Johnny Lee's tech shows up.  What about you?

How about we just say a 2d Metroid being announced has more of a chance. (:

I see the odds of being fairly low (in particular for the Wii) ...

The technology is very cool, and I wouldn't be (that) surprised to see it make its way into PC gaming, but the Wii is designed to be a social experience and head-tracking is only useful in a single player setting.

I think you're right (I'd say Metroid "Dread's" chances are about 3-1), and furthermore am impressed how quickly you turned this into a way to talk about Metroid.  On that note, you've probably seen this already, but you should definitely get one of these:

What's headtracking? And wasn't Boom Blox supposed to have it?

True.  But couldn't you theoretically have 2 people with headtracking by using a splitscreen and two pieces of infrared head gear?  Ha, it could definitely get hectic in a room playing a game like that tho, with both parties frantically moving around to dodge or get better angles (depending on how the tracking was implemented into gameplay)...

and we thought 4 player wii tennis was dangerous enough...

WTF is headtracking?

I agree with Snesboy, Wasent it show at last years E3 on BoomBlox or was it taken out of the retail version?

Yes. EA said it would be in Boom Blox at last years E3, but apparently they bit off more than they could chew and took it out before release.

For the uninitiated:
1. How did you miss out on headtracking, were you in a cave last year?
2. this is head tracking (prepare to have your mind blown):

The problem with head tracking:

what if there was someone behind you in the game? if you turned around, then you wouldn't see the screen anymore!
