I think it'll ship with a hard drive, since MMOs need them . Although, if all they were planning was downloadable content, such as furniture or new town events, I'm sure that stuff could fit in one or two megabytes.

I think you're right. Some of the best-selling Wii games have shipped with peripherals: Wii Play (with a Wiimote); Wii Fit (with the balance board); Mario Kart Wii (with Wii Wheel)... It wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo shipped an Animal Crossing MMO with a hard-drive or something similar.

a voice chat headset.

Sounds highly probable, too. (Maybe a plastic voice chat headset, where you can insert your Wiimote and speak to its mic... and you can also shake your head to build stuff!... naaah. -.-)

@tehsage: I wouldn't be surprised if they allowed you to copy your GameCube town to the Wii and have the enhancements--that'd be cool, although my town's gonna be covered with weeds and everyone will think I'm an asshole.

You think that's bad? What would people think of you if they let you import Nintendogs data into Animal Crossing Wii...

Uhhh... what?

Your puppies don't like being left to starve for months on end...

On topic, I think Animal Crossing may well mark the debut of Nintendo's "creepy" voice chat system, since it's supposed to release this Fall, and Animal Crossing would benefit from it.

The voice chat? or Animal Crossing? Where did you hear that?

I hope its an mmo. No friend codes. Oh and voice chat(we know nintendo is implementing something).

There's more chance of Superman flying through your window in the next 5 minutes than there is of this game not using friends codes

If its an mmo I could see this happen.

The voice chat. It was what IGN said in their podcast a few months back (I think they said September/October). They sounded like they knew what was up, but that was a few months ago, so plans may have changed.

If this game is going to be released with something, I hope it's a proper online service for all wii games.

It's a joke: if you think it's bad neglecting a town full of crudely-modeled anthropomorphic forest creatures...oh, never mind...

DLC for this game would be great and this would be a good time for voice chat.

I never considered this, but it makes the most sense, however, it may be packed with a voice chat peripheral. Its going to be a long 5 days cause this could be the most important game at E3 and will be huge if its packed with a Hard Drive, we can only hope :)
