Forums - Nintendo - With Animal Crossing confirmed, To what extent will it be Online?

I believe it will be very much like "my life as a king" and have downloadable content, whether its via the game, an exclusive channel or the online shop.

Something cool I hope for, is an ebay like structure for game items and players can auction of the rare items they work hard to get in the game. However, I think Nintendo would stray away from this, because the D/L content could produce alot of revenue.

Also, I wonder if they plan to go all out and allow online players to visit your town or just limit it to friends only. One thing is for sure and that is Nintendo will involve online play on some level.

What are your thoughts? How should the online work?

Nintendo = Innovation = Wii

Depressing...

For what has been labelled, even if redicilous, the reason Nintendo will win this years E3, its remarkable that no one has anything to say about it.

I hope its an mmo. No friend codes. Oh and voice chat(we know nintendo is implementing something).

When Miyamoto first described the Wii's standby mode, he mentioned that Animal Crossing would allow other players to visit your town even when you're not playing. I'm assuming it would just be friends for that, and maybe random people will be allowed if you accept them.

I still maintain it will be somewhat like an MMO.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

DLC for this game would be great and this would be a good time for voice chat.

Maybe Animal Crossing will ship with a hard-drive. Wouldn't that be the bee's knees?

VERY

I think it'll ship with a hard drive, since MMOs need them . Although, if all they were planning was downloadable content, such as furniture or new town events, I'm sure that stuff could fit in one or two megabytes.
