My reasoning is poor? It is much better than yours. Hardware revisions are geared towards stability and lower manufacturing cost. This would be a nonentity for the ps3 by the next gen. There is is simply noway a 512 mb wii would still be around

 

... So, it's easier for them to design and release an entirely new console than it is for them to plop 8GB of flash memory into the current Wii as prices on flash plummet? Right....

 The 10 year plan was a marketing gimmick to allay fears that a $600 price tag at launch was too much.  Well, it didn't work, and really we shouldn't even be giving it much more thought than to say 'They'll release when the others release, just like any non-dominant console is forced to do'

Is it me or other people as well think all this Blu-Ray thing is a bit nonsense?

I mean, why do I have to use my game console to watch movies? Just because Sony thought that it's cool? No it isn't!

When Blu-Ray becomes a standard and the hardware prices get at a reasonable level, then I will probably buy a Blu-Ray player as most people will do. But why on earth we have to deal with all this nonsense when we talk about games?

Just cause they got it right at this monemt dosent mean its futere proof..... XD

My predictions is:

Next-box --> late 2011.
Wii 2 --> late 2011 or 2012.
PS4 --> late 2011 or early 2012.

All 3 companies will try to release new consoles around the same time. SONY and Microsoft will want to prove their platforms are viable while Nintendo will not want to risk the competition recovering market share. The Wii will selling though until 2013/14.
