I remember when the first Killzone came out. Being a big fan of FPS shooters it wasnt long before i had my hands on a copy. After playing through the game, I couldn't figure out what the brilliance about the game was. Having played several FPS's I felt a little let down if anything. Especially after the release of BLACK, which truly was groundbreaking given its release on last gen consoles. 

The hype machine has now started again. Killzone2 is in the horizons and it is meant to be better then silicon found sun bathing on the hot exotic beaches. 

Already since its demo shown years ago prior to the PS3 release, there has been huge doubt whether or not it will be this graphically brilliant game that wields the power to display graphics so good, the press were convinced it was CG rather then in game graphics. 

Well what if the graphics are so great, will the gameplay be just as phenomenal? Gears of War is what it is today, not so much due to its graphics, but due to its new off the shoulder approach to FPS. Will Killzone2 bring anything new to the table or will it just be another over hyper best seller title such as Halo3. Polished to look extra good with not much new content but praised and loved by its fan boys. 

Unless this game makes it into the top 5 games of ALL TIME on Metacritic, then no. It will not be all it is hyped up to be.

KZ2 could go either way be top notch or be very average. We will have to wait and see when it comes out. Never count your chickens before they hatch.

no one is hyping it that much. The most i've seen it hyped as was 90+% and probably the best looking game on consoles when it gets released

We won't know till its released. But I suspect they realize the bar that was set, and are going to reach beyond it if it kills them (or bankrupts the studio :) )

SONY is hyping it that much.

This game is Sony's Fable 1.  If possible, they are hyping KZ2 worse than Moylneux did F1.

This game is almost definately overhyped. Which is too bad, because if it gets a metacritic or gameranking score of 80-85% it'll be considered a big disappointment despite being a pretty good game. Much like Heavenly Sword was.

Well never played KZ1 but from the sound of it, it was just average and not anything to boast about. Hell I hadn't even heard of it.

Killzone 2 may be good, but for it to have been great and just amazing as was thought to be, it should have been out last christmas or early this year. That fact that it was shown so much far ahead of when it will come out will just make it another shooter and over hyped.

Too many shooters out in the market and with great graphics in most of them this will just mix in with the crowd i believe.

Microsoft hyped the hell out of Halo 3 and it was better than Halo 2 but not anywhere where they were hyping it to be. Every company does this. and plus i haven't heard anything new about Killzone 2 in awhile that sony has said they've slowed down the hype train for awhile now

I can't believe you are saying Sony hypes KZ2 like Molyneux hyped F1....did you read some of the crap he said in articles. I mean c'mon, F1 was supposed to be this crazy game where everything you did affected how you appeared and what type of person you were later in the game. When I first read about it I thought it was this amazing new game that couldn't possibly have been done before.

I would argue that it would be damn near impossible to hype something more than Molyneux hyped F1, and would involve telling people that your game will be a masterpiece upon release and cure cancer by the power of the cell.
