You may remember in the announcement video for this year's Bungie Day when rascally Luke Smith hinted at the announcement of a new Bungie game. Well, the 7th has come and gone and we're still no closer to knowing what the team is working on after finally undoing the double square knot on Master Chief's apron strings. If yesterday's episode of the Bungie podcast is any indication though, it seems we'll be hearing something at the start of E3.

Here's the exchange between co-hosts Luke Smith and Brian Jarrard you can find at the 90-minute mark of this week's cast, in script form for your reading pleasure:

Jarrard: "Isn't there something going on on July 14th, or something like that?"
Smith: "Yeah, around then."
Jarrard: "Somehow that's sticking in my head for some reason. Guess we'll have to see."
Smith: "Yep, we'll just have to."

So, what could it be? Well, as it's being announced on the same day as the Microsoft press conference, we think either a new 360/PC game or something Halo 3 related is a safe bet. How's that for vague?

What do you guys think?  Halo-related, or something new?  Maybe Halo 4 has a plunger-gun, to compete with the Raving Rabbids!

If it's being announced at the MS press conference then it is probably not coming to PS3 which SUCKS. I thought that after Bungie left MS that we woud be seeing a multiplat release but guess not :(

Microsoft retained the right of first refusal when Bungie left, so any game pitches from Bungie go to them first.

Halo Zero? Maybe they will play out the early story between the flood and the forerunners as they built and activated the Halos (and survived in the Ark). That would be an epic setup to the trilogy. No master chief, but a group desperate to stop the universe from being overrun by the flood.

Well that pic looks like it's for Pimps at Sea! I wonder if they are really going to make that game now!? Then again everytime they are making a new Halo game they bring up Pimps at Sea...

I hope its a pirate game.. a pirate game with dodgeballs would be cool!

or a Zombie survival game!! Yeah with 4 player coop!! that would be awesome!

Loved this game on te pc ! Hope it's something like this in 3d!

Lets hope they make a FPS with Pirates and Monkeys and Sea Monsters and Captain Jack Straw! yeah baby!
