Forums - General - Dirty wii, no brawl for holidays!

So it's the first week of school holidays, and what better way to spend all my free time than playing brawl.

So i put the disk in, and after about 2 minutes of trying to load, and making a hell of a lot of noise while doing it, i get an error asking me to eject the disk and refer to the intruction booklet for more info.

I ring nintendo and they explain to me that brawl is the first wii game on a duel layer disk, and that my laser needs to be cleaned! The customer service lady was really helpful though and they are sending me a package to send my wii away, which should take about a week and a half for me to get my wii cleaned, and sent back.

But come on, i'v been playing brawl for a week now, why did it have to stuff up in the holidays!

Or you just have bad luck.

You can try blowing air into the disc slot to see if that helps.

yeah, i already tried that. nothing. It works fine on our other wii, but you can't transfer save files, and i don't feel like playing through half of subspace again :P

This exact same thing happened to me when Brawl first came out in the USA, but it was for Spring Break.

I had Brawl for a little over a week...and I had been playing it just fine for many many hours, so I thought all was well. I get home from my class on the Friday that Spring Break starts..and I pop in the game...and 2 minutes later my system makes a loud crunching sound and dies. I missed out the entire Spring Break....

for some reason its been the norm lately for wiis getting broken

Yeah same here. It actually happened while loading the first stage we wanted to play. It was taking longer than usual (about 12 seconds or so) and my Wii was making a loud noise. I jokingly turned to my friend and said: "hah, it sounds like it's about to brea...." and then it broke.

But why oh why the lens on wiis get so dirty??
