Anyone else heard of how they're putting the original Paper Mario on the DS? Any idea if its a port or remake?

Where did you even hear that they're making it? The DS already has Mario & Luigi.

It was in CoroCoro in April. They say it releases next month in Japan.

And CoroCoro is pretty reliable.

Paper Mario for the N64 was better than the gamecube, I thought - most of the good ideas were recycled for the GC because no one played the N64 version.

Guess that's why I couldn't play the original after I played PM2 and found it to be my all-time black horse in videogaming.

They optmialised everything in the sequel, so the rough parts of the game really stand out.

I'll try it again if it comes to DS though.

This is true, but the GC rev was still fantastic.

That said, I'd rather see another Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga than a port of the N64 game.
