I agree with going to a foreign country, something like Paris (streets are probably too small), Tokyo, Beijing, Berlin, something like that.

GTA: Detroit

GTA: Sin City was the alternative to SA back when it was in concept. I imagine that is where we will go in GTA IV(another city). I wouldn't mind VC again as that was my fav after LC. China and france will not work as for reason stated above; nor will it be an exclusive(on any system).

But I don´t think the average american would want a GTA where the protagonist and the people around aren´t all speaking english?

Even when the ps2 was reigning supreme, GTA still came to the xbox because those extra copies are  worth much more than the port cost.

 

Yes thats true, but rockstar wants to create a bigger game, they released the statement and if microsoft doesnt use something like blu-ray on the 360 they wont get the next GTA no matter what, also those GTA fans would just buy a ps3

 

Are you sure rockstar would threaten M$? I'm sure they want lower royalty fees. Also, M$ paid them $50 mil for DLC. Even, Sony won't do this especially not right now. Rockstar loves the M$ funds. They help Take-Two pay lawyers to fend off EA's acquisition. Its also rumored that the 360 may see its successor in 2010. That would definitely use blu-ray or "downloads" like some xbots claim. The next GTA may release on the next-box and ps3.

 

I think it would be easier on everyone if we had some links, so I'll present what I think leo-j is talking about:

Of course, there would be the whole thing about optimized to make it an overall better game, but even so, I doubt it would happen that the next GTA will be an exclusive to one console.

On topic:

I've never been a big GTA fan, but I'd love to see it move to another big city, something that isn't quite so familiar. I think Tokyo could be a great place to have some fun!

if someone offered you 500M dollars or 1000M dollars which would you choose?  i'd go with the more money personally - and so will the management because that is their job.

besides - once EA owes the rights you'll see GTA on everything from the ps3 to the iphone.

Before you guys all start jumping for joy with GTA craziness, ask yourself these questions.

After the whole EA trying to buy out Take2 and all, "If T2 is making another GTA, will EA again be at it heels trying to buyout T2?

What if EA actually succeeded in buying T2? And if EA was in charge what will the GTA franchise be like?

I don't think a lot will change. I mean, EA knows that their 'AAA' development teams (for example Maxis and Bioware) already have a succesful formula. Just look at Spore. PC, Wii, DS? :o Because Will Wright wanted it to be that way.

 

I don't think they'd want to mess with Rockstar a lot.

i hope the next GTA game is PS3 exclusive... imo the game could have so much more if they didn't have to worry about 360's 9GB device storage...i know the 360 version of IV sold more than the PS3 version but i guarantee an exclusive PS3 GTA with a map size of SA...10 times more features...and the PS3 will have an user install base probably higher then 360 by its release the game will sell better than PS3 + 360 GTA IV sales now. Also any GTA fan without a PS3 would probably buy a PS3 for this game anyway...thats just my opinion...probably not likely to happen anyway unless SCEA publishes it
