Well, seeing as how I can already play the original Chrono Trigger on 4 different platforms, I hope they add some bonus stuff to the game.

Whatever if it's a port or remake it's the kind of game I want on my DS so I can bring it everywhere to play and show it off! :P

It's a port with a dungeon thrown in. People who think it's a remake are deluding themselves. They didn't remake anything.

Of course I knew it was a port from the beginning but there were some people in denial.

Boy, what a disappointment. We're only getting an exact copy of one of the best games ever made. Oh, and with some extra crap included, too.

Give me a fucking break... The version for the PS1 added very little outside of cutscenes which add nothing in terms of gameplay. Everyone seemed to rave about that version.

The game is a masterpiece, and I'd rather have a perfectly translated port than some version that tries to reinvent the wheel and could potentially diminish the game's greatness.

Sorry if I am somehow misunderstanding what you wrote. Is that first sentence sarcasm or did you conradict yourself in the third sentence? If it is an exact copy then it is obviously a perfectly translated port that is not trying to reinvent the wheel.

I would at least wonder what the extra dungeon is about though. It may even make a perfectly good game better. Who knows?

Even if it is a port, I would never call it a "straight" port like some of you did, because it is comming to the DS. This means they should at least fill 2 Screens instead of one and add Stylus control.

Only if they just use 1 Screen without Stylus control, I would call it straight port.

Of course it's a port but it doesn't matter I will buy it anyway.

Some games don't need a remake and CT is one of them.

Chrono Trigger is my wife's favourite console game ever. If I don't buy this game, that will make me a bad husband.

So it doesn't really matter what happens with it. :p

However, I can confidently say she'd prefer a port over a remake. But then, she's the "hardcore" fan that would want it almost as true to the original as possible.

2d would be fine with me but the screens thus far show a direct port. So for me this has gone from a game I HAVE to have to a game I might rent.

If you've never played it then you should definately get it. I'm pretty sure a lot of the RPG fans on this site didn't know what an RPG was when this game came out so yeah it's gonna sell too.
