On topic, well, anectodal evidence is not enough to support such misleading title...

It was formulated as a question. Just a co-incidence that this is only taking place in Groningen? Well I don't know. But if people are interested I'll count them tomorrow and count them again next week, I live almost around the corner of the store.

Yeah, I have hear similar scenarios on US (Florida) and Spain, but still is too little to think is goblar situation...

Well, one thing is for sure - Wii supply was much higher in the past week, we can see that in vgchartz numbers.

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

Hard to tell. A similar post like this has occured every couple of weeks for over a year. I remember when Kwaad used to post some phoney baloney tracking data to prove that the Wii was not sold out in the US. That was around March 2007 if I recall correctly. He also claimed all the walmarts he visited had Wiis in stock.

I'll believe they had lots in stock, but 300 units is ~ (1.52m x 1.52m x 1.52m) stack of Wiis (5ft x 5ft x 5ft for us Americans) which I wouldn't believe unless I saw it for myself, and then started unstacking to make sure it was solid.

 err 300 wii's is a bit larger....

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Shortages in Holland are horrible!

My own Wii is from Mediamarkt in Rotterdam a week after release, I only saw some Wiis twice since then.

And I ordered Mario Kart Wii april 10th! Still waiting for it!!!

I'm getting angry with Nintendo!

I know what you mean, I haven't been able to find it anywhere so decided to order it from Amazon.co.uk when I saw it in stock there a few minutes ago.

Btw, before people are asking, I did use the vgchartz store to order it.

Yeah Wiis are pretty easy to find over here now, just order on Amazon UK. Wii Fit on the other hand is still scarce online and in-store. The fact that nowhere's discounting it to less than £68.00 when the RRP is £69.99 says it all. Usually games are discounted by £5-10 before they're even released and Wii Fit's been out since April. For example, SSBB came out here on June 27th with an RRP of £39.99 and can already be bought for £29.99 at Shop To. Wiis can be bought on Shop To for £169.99 (£10 discount) but I don't know if they ship to Holland.

Wiis in stock in large quantity I believe, but I don't for a second buy that there are 300 of them. During X-mas some of the largest retail outlets in the US didn't get 300 units. Sounds like they had a lot of units and you exaggerated the amount a bit?

A bit exaggerated? I don't think so.

But the PS3s were easier to count.

Seriously pictures or it never happened.  I don't at all doubt they got Wiis or that they didn't sell out immediately its the 300 thing that I'm not buying. Actually, this picture sums up how I feel:

Because even if you're 100% correct, your story still makes no sense.

I have seen stacks of Wiis in a few different Media Markt stores recently as well, so I don't think MikeB is wrong. Maybe 300 is really only 200, cause without actually counting them it will be a pretty rough guess, but it is definitely possible for these stores to get a big shipment of Wiis. However, it is to be seen if they get another one if the current one is quickly sold out.
