Forums - Sales - Nintendo floods the market with Wii?

I must be the only one who hasn't seen a Wii in the wild. I haven't seen one...since Jan 2007 when I got mine after standing outside for a while. I'll look out for some at TRU when I get a DS in a few days. Usually here they sell out in 10 mins X_X lol.

You should look at other stores besaides TRU if you want to see wii's in the wild.  The wii is a very popular system with children and TRU being a major toy store, it would be the first place for many parents to shop, and buy all the wii's within hours of the stores receiving unit.

well there is a chance they might ship more, cause their fiscal year will end soon, but around me they still were sold out

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

Here in Genoa WiiFit is very hard to find, but in the stores you can find piles of Wiis, PS3s and XB360s, but it's understandable, school finished, it's terribly muggy and we are on the sea, so, who would stay at home?

Stwike him, Centuwion. Stwike him vewy wuffly! (Pontius Pilate, "Life of Brian")

yeah i noticed it 2 how many wiifit did they have?

Lots, but they had far more Wiis.

You lost me right there.

Anyway, just because they shipped a billion Wii's doesn't mean they met demand.

It just means another stellar week for the Wii in America, to sharply constrast HD console sales and anger fanboys.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Currently in stock:

Store 1/mail order: over 50
Store 2: 32

So it's not that hard to find Wii in large numbers, at least outside the US.

Yep. In fact, I know where there are almost 30 million of them.

Ouch, I didn't see that one coming.

Every time a PS3 or 360 hit title is launched. Nintendo floods the market with Nintendo Wiis. Very clever tactic by Nintendo.

"Apparently Americans want b/c, and people are making that abundantly clear, by not buying the forty gigabyte unit."

I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand that logic. People are demanding the 80gig unit by not buying the 40gig unit? So instead of sales simply slipping back into the normal range, the lack of sales is due to "demand" for the 80gig?

The PS3 received a one-week bump, during the launch of the most anticipated PS3 game of the year (and the first major exclusive title). There is no evidence at all that the bump was due to the 80gig, and it going back down to normal levels only provides evidence that the 80gig unit was not responsible for that spike. After all, the 360 received similar boosts during the launches of their big exclusive titles. So I just don't understand the logic behind your statement. How are average sales indicative of this invisible demand?
