We've been getting more Wiis at our store as well. I work at GameStop, and we usually only get three a week, but lately we've been getting six.
Of course a neighboring store has been getting none at all. Not sure what all that's about.

@ Sqrl
they are definitely being flooded, my friend went to big w today and asked about their wii stock, and they apparently had 80 wiis just shipped in stock
oh lord, more supply, more casual gamers what is one going to do
| MikeB said: @ Sqrl You posted pics proving me right Jesus are you're really quite a guy. The pictures don't proof you right at all, it just shows hundreds of Wiis. You expect me to gather all the Wiis scattered around the place and put numbers on them for easy counting? |
Its not my fault you can't read and comprehend what I wrote, my position is crystal clear to anyone who bothered to read my posts. You seem to have opted to just take up the role of victim instead of reading. Its sad because your pictures did prove a lot of people who completely doubted you wrong, but you decided to aim high and attack the person who believed you but thought you were exaggerating a bit.
A reasonable and optimistic count yields 236, but the last pic is a crap angle and frankly I think their are closer to 200 there. But either way you are 40-75 Wiis short of what major stores had for the holidays which puts the number back to a believable range, and you're 64-100 short of 300. My issue was with 300 and the fact that it would have to be larger than a holiday shipment, the fact that you can't make this distinction is not my fault, because I made it perfectly clear before the pics were ever posted.
That is a LOT of Wii units - please go back every day (or whenever you can), and see how many are still there - be real interesting to see how long they last!
Pretty awesome thread :)
EDIT - can people please lay off MikeB? He is doing us a great service by taking/posting those pics. His initial "approximation" of the figures (which initially seemed outlandish) turned out to be quite accurate.
...
Now that the financial qrt is over - we may well be seeing some form of "Wii Flood". Nintendo may want to do this, as this ensures they got their forecasts for the last qrt right - and can now upp them for this qrt (if required).

Sqrl is getting pwned here.
Plus, the title of this thread is a question. Plus, Nintendo flooding the market would be a good thing for Nintendo: it would mean huge Wii sales increases month over month. No one said, "demand for Wii dried up." No one said, "the Wiis on display won't sell." Jesus Christ, people.
Sqrl is technically right...but come on, he was just throwing a number out there in his first post as an approximation, wasn't he? I don't see the reason to get down in a fight over how accurate it is, as long as it's in the ballpark. You guys could be doing more productive things with your time than fighting. =P

If this wasn't directed at me I would probably ban you for trolling, the substance section of the forum rules clearly state that you must support your position. If you can't do that then I will ban you for violating that rule, this applies to both you and MikeB actually.
Just dancing around and pretending you've won an argument is just being a nuisance, either support your position or stay out of the thread. This is a warning.

I completely agree it is a silly thing to argue over, but I asked Mike before the pics if he might be exagerating a bit and he denied that he was. Even after the pics were posted I said this:
| Sqrl said: Ok, I did a pretty thorough count and I'm getting 187, and that was giving benefit of the doubt that any areas I couldn't see were packed with Wiis. Thanks for the pics still, it is good to see supply is getting to a point where people can walk in and buy one. |
