Hmmm...

This is tricky. An HD TV is a big purchase, certainly it costs more than just buying a PS3 on its own. I'd have liked to get it on this but I wanted my PS3 NOW and without having to pay for an HD TV (yes, I know the PS3 comes with it, but I've still got to find the cash for the TV...). Still, it should help, maybe not their bottom line, but certainly with number of PS3s out and about in the wild.

I think the profit from the TV more than justifies this,,,and last time (in AU)it helped Sony to gain market share severly on samsung.

Well, it doesn't really matter if it's technically a sell or not, it still adds to their installed base, which needs to be taken into consideration for software sales.

It's all just promotional semantics anyway. It's not really a free PS3, the cost of both is included in the TV price.

yer well the PS3 cost AU$799.95 here which is US$762.12 and EU$482 so that is what 2 times the us price and its the 40GB
