Good question. 8-bit graphics at 640x480 would be nice, though. Larger viewable area and/or more detailed sprites would be a noticeable upgrade from the NES 256x224 resolution.

It could use the NES style but just be blown up to HD-res, but I'm sure it won't be a big deal. Super Paper Mario looked good on my HDTV.

Mega Man 9 actually may serve to get those old schoolers into the mentality of online play.

I know a few people who'd love mega man old school but hate online for one reason or another.

So for those who just love mega man 2 style, then this could force them to get a Wii firstly and then force them to go online once they find out it's free, then word of mouth. (online)

2. It will boost Wii HW. I've went around sites and people are already saying they're buying a Wii for MM9. This could potentially be a good Wii HW seller.

 

 im not so sure if it will be big HW mover,maybe only a few hard core fans will buy it

This is cool, but is it really that mindblowing? You can always play MM4-6, I'm sure most people never played those, and that'd like a whole new MM game too.
