How can this be an ace up their sleeve? Everyone who likes Zelda already has a Wii, and those who still haven't can't be a big group; a new Zelda would be nothing more than supplying the standard fanbase.

what about the 2 million who bought TP on gamecube?

Many of this 2 million will probably already have a Wii by now for Galaxy, Smash Bros, Mario Kart and/or Metroid. They are part of the standard Nintendo fanbase anyway. And anyone who is played TP on the GC and didn't like it, won't get excited by a new Wii Zelda. So, it's great for all you guys who like Zelda's, but i can't consider a new Zelda shown at E3 be what I would call an ace up the sleeve of Nintendo. I tell you, a remake of GoldenEye would be more of an ace than a new Zelda, Metroid, Mario can be. I hope you understand what I'm saying. New installations of famous 1st party series, especially when they aren't even the first installation of that series on a platform, (we already have TP on the Wii) are really something else than unexpected announcements, who will atract new or different gamers. Anyway, of course the Zelda fans will be delighted. But that's something else.

So, again, I appreciate your forethought, but you should just resign yourself. If Zelda Wii is announced at E3, then the lid is gonna blow off the forum, and it's gonna be the biggest announcement at the show.

yes all the fanboys here will go all out, but I said that too.. so I really wonder if you are replying to me, or repeating me..

An ace up their sleeve for E3.  Winning E3 is all about having the flashiest show with the biggest announcements.  It's all about building hype amongst the hardcore gamers.  This has nothing to do with sales.

Not to mention a new Zelda would boost sales somewhat, as 2 million people bought TP for the GC.  Actually, I take that back.  With Wiis constantly being sold out, sales can't go up much higher. :P

I'm not expecting it, because:
1. If it isn't announced, I won't be disappointed, & will focus on the other great games announced.
2. If it IS announced, I will be surprised, & therefore, much happier of the announcement.

It won't be announced. Wasn't last year when Miyamoto said that they didn't even had a solid concept for the new Zelda and they were just "throwing" (sorry couldn't find a better word!) ideas?

Edit: "Speaking with IGN Wii, Twilight Princess director Eiji Aonuma and Nintendo producer Shigeru Miyamoto collectively indicated that while some ideas are being tossed around for a new Wii Zelda project, nothing is very far along, or set in stone.

Asked if Twilight Princess would be Wii’s last Zelda, Aonuma said, “I can’t say, but I guess for now, maybe, yeah [laughs]. Not to say that it’s going to be the final game. There’s still a lot of potential with the Wii so there’s still a possibility that there could be another Zelda for it. We do have some ideas in the works, but I can’t say for sure because none of them have been approved and we’re still very much in the planning process, so I hope you look forward to whatever comes out.”

I've been saying this for weeks.

It'll be announced. There's no way it wouldn't.

Most definitely for a 2009 release, probably Spring so that hype doesn't die off.

And if it isn't announced...

Theyre going to announce Kid Icarus Animal Crossing and Pikmin 3 soon I dont think they'll mention Zelda since the three games are MAJOR and can keep people hyped for the rest of the year and on into 09.
Zelda will not be announce till next year if its this year maybe TGS.

well ninty said that now they dont want to show too much of their games to early,so i think it will be announced at E309 and released for holday 2009

Zelda Wii = at least 1 more Wii buyer

Well if the game looks any good, and not a complete waist of time like the hand held varieties

Hoping they stay with the same style as TP since I loved it.
