I don't think the wii will beat the 40 million by end of 2008, but I think it will be a close race. With very high christmas sales it is maybe possible...! What do you think?

In fact, I think it will start to dip into the negative sales.

It will surpass it. Why? Because:

Wii shipments at the end of last year = 20.13

Production = 1.8 million/month for 6 months, and at least 2.4 million per month for another 6 months (as per official announcements)

Total 2008 production = 25.2 million

Wii at the end of 2008 = sold out almost in every shop.

20.13 + 25.2 = 45.33

45.33 > 40

QED.

Yeah...why can't people see this? The highest it will get this year is 33 million. Not everyone needs one of these things.

OT: Yeah, the Wii should be able to pass 40 million by the end of the year. BTW didn't somebody predict something like 60 million sold by the end of the year? (johnlucas) or am I just crazy?

Let's see: You are saying that since forever and everytime it didn't happen. So why would the pattern be broken this time?

lol 8 million in the first 6 months and now only 5 million in the next 6 months (holiday,christmas...)
