I think that all the big distributors need to improve. But, out of the major distributors EA is doing the best right now. To me, Activision has deteriorated the most in the past year. They have released a lot of average or less then average games and they are milking CoD and GH...

Just to fix the list: The Orange Box and Crysis were not developed by EA, only published.

So? Same with Rock Band, and probably some other titles as well. Activision didn't develop Guitar Hero III or Call of Duty 4 for that matter, so what's your point?

The point is, if EA had nothing to do with the development of a game, then EA shouldn't take credit for it's quality (same goes for any publisher). Valve could have very well let another company publish The Orange Box, instead of EA.

Around the Network

I don't like Capcom for a couple reasons:

1. I have never played a Mega Man game that I remember, and even I think that the series completely sucks now.

2. What the hell is with the new Street Fighter?

3. Stop axing so many good series! I'd love to see sequels for Okami and maybe Zack & Wiki (never played it, but I'm sure that it's deserving of a sequel).

4. You know, you could give the PS3 more than 2 released games, one of which is a port of a crappy game on the 360.

5. Same with the 360, all they've gotten to themselves is Dead Rising. Nice, but this game has a lot wrong with it.

6. And as for the Wii, make something good on it! The support has been nice, but there are too many ports. Make a true Resident Evil game for the Wii and not a port! Make an awesome new IP. Bring Dino Crisis back! Hell, I don't know.

The point being that Capcom is more successful than they deserve to be. They've done okay, but their games shouldn't have sold this well this generation.

PLEASE, no more boycotting. I'm getting sick of the word itself.

I never said the word boycott. Frankly, people should shut up about the Ubisoft boycott because it's a worthless cause.

Casuals will continue to buy Ubisoft's games, and if you're really going to intervene every time someone at a Gamestop decides to buy a Petz game, than you are a huge nerd.

Huh? Has someone here really said that they will do that? :D

Frankly people who see video games within the realms of art and do not want to see the industry make a turnaround to the early 1980's video game crash flouded with low budget trash, where gameplay and fun is seen as more important than storyline and message would do us best boycotting Nintendo and their systems.

Nintendo is driving our industry into an obsession with gameplay, family and fun.

I remember a couple people, it was sad.

As a Wii owner i say that EA is doing okay. But their DS, Wii, PS3, XBox360 and PSP ports are terrible. The Next-Gen exclusives are okay, but not really good. Ubisoft didn't make any good game on the Wii or DS this far. Maybe Brothers in Arms could change that, but i think that it will be a ps2/GC port with wii controls without any ONLINE support. Only Red Steel 2 (that isn't even announced) could be great on the wii. Ubisoft is doing good on the pc, xbox360 and ps3.

With video games reaching visual levels on par with cinema a decade or so back storylines should become the central priority of game developers in an interactive format. Plot should be the foundation of a game with gameplay built around it not vice versa. VG's made today without any effort placed into a deep, cinematic storyline are nearly unplayable for me. Nintendo's obsession with gameplay at the expense of storyline is what is destroying the artistic, social and political merits of this industry.
