No. I doubt he made a major life decision of this magnitude based on a desire to play a video game system, even one his own company makes. I imagine it has a lot more to do with his three kids and the aforementioned $38 billion foundation (The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is largest foundation of it's kind in the world).
For those who questioned about age, he's 52. Not senior citizen, for sure, but not young by any means. 3 years away from AARP membership.
