It might not even manage to be best game this year let alone game of all time.

A hardcore gamer doesn't = gamer who likes to shoot in their games.
I nkow people who would sound way more hardocre than you that only play JRPGs for example but spend upwards of 150 hours on each one trying to do everything possible.

The best game ever would have to appeal to a larger audience than Gears does.
How can anyone know if this will be the best game ever if its still months away from release?

Dude, lets see MGS4, KZ2, RFOM2 - Sony has more big shooters coming than Microsoft. Since you don't apreciate shooters all that much, will you admit that the 360 lineup is better because it doesn't rely on all those nasty shooters?

Dude! "Read" the bolded. "But for the hardcore gamer like me" He was talking about himself and people like him. He wasn't talking about the hardcore Zelda fanatic who questions his sexuality because he at times argues with himself about whether Epona or Link is sexier.

I bolded that part (not him) to question his definition of hardcore because i'm as hardcore as it gets and the only pure shooter I ever purchased is cod4

is it just me or was gears of war really really overrated ???? i just found the graphics and game play really boring
