its good to see that the xbox 360 is catching the casual gamers....cause it looks to me that its still going to be like the original xbox...if microsoft doesnt make any casual games for casual consumers to jump aboard :)

Cklmb - How can the 360 move 3m units for the rest of the year? That's nearly impossible (being too low). Do you sincerely expect it to sell 40% less units this year vs. last year?
For those saying H3 won't move any units, and I will re-iterate what I've said:
Halo 2, when it came out, moved about 300,000 hardware units in November above Xbox's average trend, totally destroying the PS2 in sales by ~200k. Also, December numbers were up around 150k units.
That's outside of any other consideration. There's no possible way the X360 will sell just 3m units between H3, GTAIV, a price drop, Lost Odyssey, and the other 10 1m-sellers that are coming out later.
I'm on the high end, but I still got a prediction of 17.5m units, and it should hit it.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Good sign for continued growth in the XBox 360 library. It's achieving the critical mass needed to ensure survival in the current market, and to provide the substantial library it will need to be a mass-market success when the price comes down eventually.
Console sales are important but Software Developers and Publishers also look at software tie-in numbers. Having the most consoles means nothing if the console owners are only purchasing one or two first party titles. Xbox and Xbox 360 owners traditionally buy many games (within certain genres). This is very important to third party publishers and often decides which platform a game is initially designed on. Of course there is no denying that a poorly selling title on a console that sold 120 million units can still have a positive influence on a company's bottom line.
1,5 year and only 10 mln.
yeah, great..
Every 5 seconds on earth one child dies from hunger...
2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.
1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.
PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

Hopefully the numbers are not over estimated as there isn't much room for error... Last month I think Xbox 360 numbers were lowered after NPD data... Remember this month could be +/- as much as 20%.

When do you think the PS3 will reach 10 million?

13 million? You are kidding right, do you remember the number of units MS sold in November and December of last year? That was at the $400 price point. This year they more and likely be at a $300 price point for the premium 360. I'm not as bullish on 360 sales as MrStickBall but the 360 should easily reach 15 million units for the year.
