The more dire supply issues for the Wii these last two weeks comes as little surprise; the stock for the almost-700,000 and about-500,000 unit weeks had to come from somewhere, after all. Normally we see about 700,000 to 750,000 units sold per 2 weeks (averaging 350,000 to 375,000 units per week). The average per week for the last 8 weeks, however, has been closer to 400,000 units. However, if my estimate is correct, they should be getting back to their previous teeter-tottering shipment schedule within 2 weeks. When exactly that will happen I can't pinpoint for sure, however, so I have no real prediction on how this last week was for the Wii...
As for the PS3, I see it as a clear issue of the other end of the supply vs. demand spectrum. What will matter most is how many consumers actually wanted to get a PS3, not how many have been shipped. Again, that's a real wildcard to predict. Unless that special from last week was still on this week, I don't think we'll see the kind of astronomical sales that some are apparently expecting...
