I've noticed since I downloaded Firefox 3 I don't have to scan my PC as often. It seems Firefox 3 is blocking most the cookies/viruses/etc. that cause my computer to slow down. Before, when I used to scan my computer I used to get anywhere between 100-300+ infections. Now, I only get like 2-60 so it doesn't slow down my computer as often which means I don't have to scan as often.

Thank you Firefox 3! ^_^

LOL.

Anyway, cookies are not "infections" and contrary to popular belief, they're not harmful.

Also, the reason your computer was slow was do to a memory leak in the browser.  They've done a good job of patching that.

i will have to upgrade to firefox

Fire Fox 3 Rocks. PS3 Rocks.

Whats so good about Firefox?

I had some strange internet problem a few weeks ago where it kept going down after 10-20 minutes, so I tried Firefox instead of Internet Explorer but that didnt help. Anyway, I didnt notice anything special about FF over IE during that time.

I switched back to IE and it has no issues. Blocks everything nasty.. I think.

It doesn't but if you're an intelligent computer-user then you'll likely be avoiding the really nasty places so it doesn't matter.

If you are going to use IE7, I recommend getting this:  http://www.ie7pro.com/ (It's free)

This is the single greatest plugin for IE7 and definitely worth getting even if you only use IE7 sparringly.

I use Firefox,Open Office,Google mail simply because I don't like supporting microsoft.
I do however have XP.

But firefox isn't all that usefull to me compared to the alternative.

never liked FF, Avant user myself... maybe FF has changed since ive used it
