Don't do it. I can think of 4-5 users who are very incite full and intelligent, but would win every time, making it pointless.

It's not a horrible idea (I think the votes would be from moderators and not other members). But it should be used to give attention towards good but unnoticed members, and not those that people already love.

You're right. Spreading the love to the less conspicuous members would certainly encourage them to contribute more, helping to grow the community.

Perhaps a best new user of the month award could be introduced for this very purpose.

Aw, we don't need a recognition system, I think everyone here is already special in their own unique way. ^_^
