Forums - Sony - Rumor: Dark Cloud 3 being developed for PS3 exclusively

This is great news!!!

But where is White Knight Chronicles?

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Being finished and polished as we speak

Oh my god. Great news.
I spent at least 200 hours on Dark Cloud 2 (never played the first one), and man. When the 3rd one comes out I'm ravaging it. And that White Knight Chronicles sounds interesting as well.

Sony will prevail. My 60 gig says so.

PlayStation 3 Games:

- Rock Band
- Rock Band 2
- Soulcalibur IV
- LittleBigPlanet
- Guitar Hero: World Tour

Btw, I forgot they're also working on Inazuma Eleven for the DS and another Inazuma Eleven for consoles (most likely Wii).

Like I said before, they WILL make a DC3, it's just the March 2009 release date is fishy.

The game would be rushed if the game was release On March of next year.  A game getting rushed is never a good thing. i.e. recent Sonic games, NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams

Sony owns the IP so it's not like it could be anything but exclusive.

And Dark Cloud 3 rumors have been flying around since 2005...I'll believe it when I see it, because I definitely want to see it.

Also, Dark Cloud is nothing like Zelda. It's like a modern fusion fo Soul Blazer and ActRaiser. Some Sony magazines got carried away and started calling the original a "Zelda killer," and then it came out and got bashed to some extent because of that false title.

I've never heard of Dark Cloud.

Was it really a Zelda knock-off? A good knock-off or a bad one?

If its any good it could be something to look into when I get a PS3 (a prospect that is back on the horizon now we know Versus is still being developed). Now all I need is Heavy Rain to have a kick-ass showing at E3.

Interesting. I only got to play a small portion of Dark Cloud 1 at a friend's, and it seemed like a pretty cool game. Reminded me (very loosely) of a cross between Rogue (dungeon crawling), Zelda (combat), and Sim City (building the town). Maybe I'll pick up Dark Cloud 2 and give that a shot.

I haven't played it but I have read up on it. It is nothing like zelda. Also DC2 got a 9/10 from IGN and gamespot, so definitely good. It is also being developed by Level 5, which pretty much guarantees it greatness.

This website doesn't have sales listed for DC2, and it only has Japan sales listed for DC (80k).  Does anyone know if it garnered mainstream appeal of any notable level?

The original, while bland, was fun. The second one, however, was a great game to any who love ARPG's. Fantastic game from level 5.
